    Congrats!

Question: It almost seems obvious, but this wont work with Youmail, correct? This will only work with carrier vm?

    • Ted Tang says:

I got it to work. You need to trick TrapCall. Set up TrapCall as they instruct you to. If you already have YouMail configured with your phone, the PIN will get sent to your original voice mail service for your carrier. Dial that number and retrieve the PIN.

Redo the registration process again, except put YouMail’s phone number in the forwarding phone box. TrapCall will attempt to send the PIN again to YouMail but it is unable to leave a message. This does not matter. Go forward with your registration and put the same PIN in. You are now set with TrapCall and YouMail.

      This is what happens:

      1. A blocked call comes in. If you ignore it, it gets forwarded to TrapCall. If you don’t do anything, it also gets forwarded to TrapCall.

      2. TrapCall unblocked the number. If you ignored it earlier, it gets sent back to your phone with the unblocked caller ID. If you did nothing earlier, it gets sent to YouMail with the unblocked caller ID. You will not get a TrapCall message on your phone with the unblocked caller ID; but YouMail will send it to you if you have it configured to do so.

      3. You can answer the call. If you do not answer the call this time around, by either doing nothing or ignoring it, the call gets sent to YouMail with the unblocked caller ID.

This worked on two AT&T service phones I have previously configured to work with YouMail.

      .END

      • Chris says:

Is there any way to make this work for a Verizon phone? Doing it this way, I am either able to unblocked numbers using TrapCall, but it sends voicemail to Verizon’s original voicemail service OR I can forward calls to leave voicemail on YouMail, but can’t unblock numbers. If I use the TrapCall method between these two choices, I must push ignore on my phone for the call to go to Verizon voicemail, otherwise it rings and rings forever without end. Any ideas?

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

      • Devvon says:

so i tried to sign up but when i go to put in my mail number and then it said it has to be in the usa but my number is in the usa and i have at&t what do i do??

      • Mike says:

Hm…same here “number must be located in the contiguous United States” anyone cal fill me in how to make it work? Also, I am not sure what YouMail is…

  3. DrewGoods says:

    nice work and good luck!!!

  4. Ryan says:

This is not working with my iPhone 3G (AT&T).

Are you sure this works with Visual Voicemail?

  5. NeMeSiS says:

This is great you guys do amazing work. Between this and spoofcard I’m all set. I hope this turns out great and I’ll be spreading the word to everyone!!

  6. Steve says:

I have an iPhone and the voicemail is downloaded/uploaded from the phone there is no voicemail number. I have tried to get the pilot number but it failed to get me a number to enter into the box. Can anyone help me with this or is the iPhone one of the phones it will not work with btw I have the first iPhone with 1.1.4 not upgraded and is unlocked.

  7. Carlos says:

    Good job and good luck!!

  8. Chuck says:

Does not work on my iPhone either. I get to the point where the website sends me the confirmation # to my voicemail, but the iPhone never gets a voicemail.

  9. arthur says:

Works great on my iphone 3g with AT&T

  10. BaNeâ„¢ says:

When will this be ready for Verizon Wireless? I need it ASAP!!!

  11. Mark says:

Weird to see a couple comments about it not working on the iPhone.

I have the latest firmware version and everything has worked seamlessly for me with AT&T. Setup was simple, instant, and yes, the visual voicemail works perfectly still.

    • Eric says:

Do you have a paid or a free account? It unmask my call on my iPhone 3G but I’m not receiving any voicemails, Visual or regular.

  12. James says:

I got the free version and tried it out. Works as advertised. But I didn’t know it was going to send a text every time someone calls. I got the free version, not the two other pay versions (which have the 15 day free trials). Problem, is it’s going to make me go past my limit on text messages. Is there a way to turn this function off. Also, there is no instructions as far as I can see on how to reverse the whole process and bring your phone back to its original state. Anyone?

I have an iPhone and the voicemail is downloaded/uploaded from the phone there is no voicemail number. I have tried to get the pilot number but it failed to get me a number to enter into the box. Can anyone help me with this or is the iPhone one of the phones it will not work with btw I have the first iPhone with 1.1.4 not upgraded and is unlocked.

Seems like you can’t use this if
    -your iphone is unlocked*
-your sim card came from a data(air) card that you’re bogarting to your mobile phone.

you can try this: dial *#69# and hit ‘call’. you’ll get this pop-up that you’ve never seen before. hit ‘dismiss’ and then you should be given the number you’re lookin for.

*it won’t work with an unlocked phone in theory because your mobile device’s carrier pilot number (trapcall uses this to get in) wouldn’t match up to your unlocked carriers pilot number (I guess the pilot number is assigned as soon as people’s mobile contracts are set up?) so that leads me to think that trapcall would have quite the task and thus avoid matching pilot number possibilities to IMEI’s. Unless each number is simply unique and attaches to someone’s mobile device for the duration of their agreement, ready to be referenced with all the relevant information to place that call. Then again, when you pay for the trapcall service you probably have to register the application to the phone’s IMEI much like iPhone Modem (www.iphonemodem.com) and several other Apple ‘apps’. then AGAIN, trapcall isn’t an app. trapcall is a service..

My suggestion? spoofcard has an iPhone app, make a trapcall app for the iPhone. Register people’s account’s to their mobile IMEI, and give 1% of all consumers, 99% of iPhone users, the ability to get someone’s blocked number. that’s about on the same level as being able to see private myspace accounts. not as cool as making copies of dvd’s though.

  14. Ron says:

    Great job! Works with T-Mobile.

  15. manonfire says:

What’s the call forwarding # or the last part of the programming to enable the trapcall?

    It’s something with *004*18669676590*011#?

  16. Mike says:

The free service is indeed working with my iphone. I have a iphone 3g JB, not unlocked. Only issue is once the number is recognized it comes back and goes straight to voicemail. Its supposed come back to me and ring. i have not tried the other services just the basic free ones (blacklist and call ID)

  17. JuX says:

any idea when its going to be up and running with verizon phones yet? I got spoof card an use it with the ipod touch app or a voip app, but as far as this i cant really do much but wait for verizon to be supported?

  18. Judson says:

Can not obtain a “forwarding” number when following the sign up steps.
    I have an iphone 3g.

To revert it back to normal dial

  19. GARY says:

Sad to see the first version of TRAPCALL does not work with any SPRINT phone. Please let us know when a Sprint version is available. Thanks -

  20. JU says:

Thisisnot workingwith Nextel or Sprint phones, am I doing somehing wrong

  21. William says:

Very, very useful app! I tested it with my wife’s phone and my iPhone . Works 100% on the Call Trapping! Thank you!!!

  22. m d says:

how do you deactivate the service?

  23. Gus says:

You guys are the best!!! I love you guys!!!

  24. Jaime says:

Trying to ge this to work with my iphone 2.0. Not sure how to “reject” a call.

  25. Charlie O says:

WOW! Another winner. Works perfectly with my Treo 850 Pro and ATT. Some comments/suggestions having come from Callwave…. 1. e-mail the VM to the user as an MP3 or WAV as an option. 2. Setup did NOT work when activating directly from Callwave. I needed to reactivate ATT VM first and then TrapCall. 3. Rather than just block certain CID’s, also integrate various responses by CID (i.e. if it is the boss calling give alternate VM “I am at the doctors”, etc. . . . . if it is the wife, perhaps forward to a different number . . . collection company gets blocked (options should be by exchange as well as number). 4. I like the different rings from Grandcentral. You could offer up differnet rings also by CID, etc.

Just my thoughts to help justify $600/year :-)

  26. Brock says:

    AMAZING product.

Will not work with Sprint though.

Any news on when this will work with Sprint?

    Thank you!

  27. David M. says:

How does the “Block unwanted caller ” ferature work

  28. C. Robb says:

    Wonderfull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Cream says:

Can I get a log of all calls that go through your system, so I have a printed record of the calls, with the callerID, date, and time?

Can I set it up soe ALL my calls automatically go through your system, without having to do it one call at a time?

  30. Spook says:

When do you expect Verizon phone support?

  31. r graham says:

I know you will be adding carriers, but for now, Where can i get a list of current phone carriers? i will be switching services soon and would like to know which ones to look at. i know it doesn’t work with my current verizon, “can’t seem to see it now…LOL”
    thanks.

  32. Chip E. says:

    VERY VERY COOL application.
Beyond unblocking caller ID…the ability to SELECTIVELY block (blacklist) numbers, is awesome.
No more calls from the crazy ex-girlfriend at 4am, or some fan that has your number.
Yes, I use SpoofCard too. These two devices allow me to have my privacy back.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  33. SG says:

    When will Sprint be available

  34. John says:

This looks really cool. Only problem is.. it doesnt work in Canada. Bummer. Any idea if and when it might?

  35. Marshall says:

I have IPhone 3G and it works just fine. My voicemail still functions as usual. There is complete instructions when you log into your account on how to activate and deactivate your account using # and * commands on your phone.
    Works great!!!

    • BS says:

I also have the free trapcall service plan on my iphone 3g and my voicemail service was working as usual until last week. I got a text message that my voicemails were going to go to trapcalls voicemail instead of my AT&T voicemail and I would have to retrieve them from the trapcall voiemail # unless I upgraded my service. Now when I miss a call, it goes to trapcall’s voicemail # and I end up getting a text message (many hours later nonetheless) saying I have a voicemail. Has this happend to you also? This is a major inconvenience and I don’t have a text message plan.

    • tbrown says:

Marshall, which package do you have the free trapcall service? Just curious because I too just get the text message saying that I have a new Voicemail. So please let us know. email me at tre3tx@gmail.com

  36. nena says:

I have a g1 with t mobile & it does not allow me 2 put my cell phone number in. Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong

  37. Seerak says:

I see from the FAQ that TrapCall will not defeat caller ID spoofing… so it won’t be of much use against those car warranty scam artists.

I want to see something that defeats caller ID spoofing. Even just being able to detect spoofing and reroute/block a call that is using it would rock… especially if they can be blocked by default. That would kill joe-jobbing, for one thing.

This is nice, but it doesn’t do enough to replace my current procedure, which is to let all unfamiliar numbers go to voicemail and then google it immediately afterwards to see if it comes up on 800notes.com or similar sites.

  38. cristina says:

cool app…. works well with tmobile. just wondering how do i revert it back?

  39. David M. says:

    HOW DOES BLACKLIST WORK???

  40. Chris says:

I have an iPhone 3G on AT&T and it works great. I’ve been looking for something like this forever.

  41. Michael says:

Works great with my iPhone. Mention mentioned that it did not work with unlocked iPhones. My iPhone is unlocked and it works great!

  42. john says:

I tried all morning to get this to work with my 1st generation Iphone, I obtained my pilot number from at&t, but now I’m not getting the code for step 2, that is suppose to be given to me through voicemail. Please Help!

  43. Angel says:

This thing rocks!!!!!! Great easy setup and the functionality. Congrats to you guys for releasing this application!!! For all the idiots who cant figure out how to setup trapcall or how to disable the feature, then do yourself a favor and take your phone and throw it against the wall, its so easy even your grandma can do it!!

    Cheers.

  44. Angel says:

FYI: I am using trapcall on my jailbroken iphone 2g with t-mobile service. Works excellent.

    • Luis says:

How did you do this? Or how did you unlock your phone? I used yellowsnow and I cannot modify any of the call forwarding settings… Not from the phone settings or using the code in the TrapCall instructions… Any advise?

  45. ed says:

does not work on T-Mobile Blackberry, get error code during set up stating supplimental service call failed

  46. STEVIE says:

VERIZON DOES NOT WORK……….WHEN WE NEED TOO KNOW ASAP.THANKS.

  47. mike says:

Will this work on Landlines too ?

  48. Leo P says:

WOW IT REALLY WORKS I’M SO EXCITED WOW!!!! No BS

  49. David says:

Congratulations! I signed up for the Bear Trap service and every feature is working perfectly with my iPhone!

    Thanks for the great service!

  50. Heather says:

Wish it’d work with Sprint! Please keep me updated if anything changes! All the best!

  51. Bob Deer says:

Didn’t work for me on tmobile prepaid. Get call barred when trying the forwarding setup

  52. april says:

i love this, i thought spoofcard was the “ish” but now this, this is the best birthday present i could of had!!!!!!!!!!

  53. Wayne says:

I tested it out from my landline to my cell phone. When it went to my voicemail, someone picked up the phone saying “Gillardi, which case are you calling about?” ??!! What in the world?

  54. Nick says:

How does blacklist work???? its not working for me

  55. carly says:

Hey guys! This is the coolest thing ever…I’ve been using SpoofCard for a while and really loving it – this is the cherry on top of the yummiest sundae ever made! I was all ready to spend the $25 on Bear Trap when I realized you guys don’t have this to work with Canadian carriers. I have an iPhone 3G on the Rogers network and I seriously NEED this. Please please please please please make it available for Rogers customers soon! Thanks and keep up the amazing work.

  56. Khattak says:

Does not work on my unlocked samsung i600. I m using tmobile. Every time i get a blocked call. I dont see anything. I tried rejecting the number first time. The call get disconnected everytime I reject incoming blocked calls. Any Idea??

    • Heather says:

I use T-mobile too but mine is a SunCom phone (Nokia 5310 XpressMusic) and I’m not getting it to work and it’s sooooo frustrating! I need an answer now b/c someone is playing on my phone w/ a blocked number and I need to put a stop to it!

  57. Karla says:

Hi, Does ANYONE know how to revert the phone back to normal?? Remove the whole thing?

  58. Erik says:

Does it have, or are you planning, a *WHITELIST* service? The car-scam and other spoofed marginally criminal misuses of cell phones are driving me nuts. I need something that can only allow the phone to ring for known
caller numbers, and not even provide voicemail to the rest.

    • Cher says:

To create your own whitelist, simply add a silent ringtone. Make that the default ringtone. Assign everyone else a ringtone you can hear. I get fifty calls a day that I never hear. At the end of the day, I clear the list.

  59. Karla says:

If someone calls with a blocked number and hangs up before I can pick up, is there a way to find out who called? Also, what if I am already on a call and get a blocked call waiting call….how do I reject it so that I can see who is calling?

  60. arthur says:

    Blacklist wont work !
I blacklisted a friend but when he calls my phone rings….

    • john says:

Thats because its supposed to. Youl see their number on your caller id. If its blacklisted, they will not get your voicemail, but a message stating your number has been disconnected or is no longer in service. Get it?

  61. Dave says:

Same question as another asked: Does this work with Youmail?

  62. ajk says:

Works Great on my 3g.. jailbroken on version 2.2. to reject call on iphone double tap power button..
and blacklisting rings until it gets forwarded to voicemail.. then they get a disconnect message.. awesome!!!

  63. bryan says:

One thing you’ve neglected to indicate is how to disable call forwarding on your phone, in the case where you’d like to revert back to normal service. You can do this by entering the following code (T-Mobile, other carriers, YMMV):

    ##004#

    Cheers,
    Bryan

  64. Andrew says:

Wondering if this will work for Rogers wireless in canada at any point?

  65. Yonathan says:

For those guys that are having problems getting the visual voice mail, when you are doing your settings don’t add the + sign after the forward number. That worked for me. Then you will get the confirmation number in your voice mail.

Thank you guys for this application and congratulations this app rocks!

  66. admin says:

To answer a few common questions:

-TrapCall will not work with YouMail.
-You can remove TrapCall from your phone by dialing: ##004# (cancels voicemail call forwarding)
-If you have problems getting AT&T or T-Mobile to work you can dial 611 from your phone and ask them to MANUALLY setup your voicemail call forwarding to forward to 1-866-967-6590 and TrapCall will work.
-TrapCall is for cell phones only, it is not for landlines.

    • Candy says:

I manually set up my call forwarding to the 866 number and it does forward when i reject the call. The only problem is that the 866 number rings busy and doesn’t pick up the call and forward it back to my phone.

  67. april says:

i have a ringbacktone and the blacklist work but it actually played my ringbacktone and then the operator phone voice lady recording played which was weird because if a phone is no longer in service it would not have a ringbacktone, but hey i guess it’s just one of the bugs you guys will work on.

  68. JA says:

Will trapcall work on a landline

  69. VEE MEE says:

WHEN WILL U GUYS ADD ALLTELL?!

THIS IS THE BEST SERVICE. I HAVE A STALKER WHO KEEPS GETTING MY PHONE NUMBERS AND WITH THIS I CAN FINNALY MAKE THEM STOP.

  70. Wayne says:

How long before an incoming call is recorded does it show up on the control panel? I just ended an incoming call 20 minutes ago and still hasnt shown up yet.. Thanks!

  71. me says:

Can sum1 please tell me how it works on Gl tmobile! I’ve gotten 5blocked calls 2day n it did not work at all ! I signed up got a call fowarding enabled message and everything! Still jus sayin unknown caller! Please send a message on blog if u know how to do it! Than 1 time it popped up gameworks from my phone that’s callin private but it was my friend cell

  72. spotlight says:

i have a g1 android and the trap call worked great i set up my account got the confirmation number then activated the call forwarding with that long number with the pounds and stars symbols.. i made my mother call me to test it since her house number is private she called i hit the end button and a couple of seconds later my phone rung again and this time with her private number showing AMAZING!

  73. Mylene says:

It didn’t work on my phone! I asked my friend to block her number and call me and it still blocked.. how come????

  74. TILO says:

I called t-mobile to have them manually forward it since it wasnt working for me and they told me that t-mobile flex pay can not do the forwarding since its flex pay…. this would of been very useful to know before i signed up for the bear trap. Now i have to cancel, is their another way to make this work for flexpay customers with unlocked iphones?

    • vito says:

Hey, i have flex, and i have a problem forward calls on my iphone, i did call t-mobile and they did forwarded all conditional calls but when i try to call my phone from other phone with blocked number and reject this call on my phone the call was forwarded but automatically disconnected and i dont know how to fix that

  75. zorro says:

This is the most useful feature to have in life, period. Awesome job to those who created this system and it works flawlessly! Thank God I have AT&T, so I’m able to use it… Some friends have Verizon, so they’re gonna have to wait :) Overall, recommend for everyone!

  76. Works Fine. I would need more options for $15.99 A Month.

  77. Blake says:

I havent received my Confirmation Code after many attempts. Any help would be awesome! I am trying the trial for bear trap. Anyone else experience this? how long did it take for you to get the confirmation code?

  78. kal says:

I have the free trapcall. Wonder, from questions asked in blog, is it necessary to revert to normal, or do i just leave it as is and go on with life?
Also wondering how quickly a call shows up online?
When I blacklist a phone number are they also unable to text?

  79. bernie b says:

ADMIN: Open up the “ears” on the hint at land-line support. A version of this for landlines would really help a lot of people being harasses and it would help fill the large holes in the “do not call” lists. This could be a big, big win for your team, I’d pay $15 for landline trapping before I’d pay for cell trapping. I am using the free flytrap. does what I might need.

  80. Eric G says:

I tried the free 15 trial and the set up was SOOOOOOOO EASY! I was able to block calls, unmask calls, test it, re-test it, and then test it again. Duh it works. Imagine that. Everything works as described! I AM USING THIS ON MY UNLOCKED IPHONE WITH T-MOBILE SERVICE, so its obvious it works on unlocked iphones and with t-mobile (contrary to those that say it doesnt). Its easy to use, simple follow the instructions just like you did in kindergarten. Thanks Trapcall, I will be up grading after the trial. Gee, first spoof app, and now this. WOW! Technology pimped out!

  81. THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN AMAZING PRODUCT, BUT WHEN IS IT GOING TO WORK FOR SPRINT MAN!!?
THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN AMAZING PRODUCT, BUT WHEN IS IT GOING TO WORK FOR SPRINT MAN!!?
THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN AMAZING PRODUCT, BUT WHEN IS IT GOING TO WORK FOR SPRINT MAN!!?

  82. tsa says:

Can TSA ask you to hand over all your customer’s call logs?

  83. Promitheas says:

Are there any plans of extending the service to Europe as well?

  84. Great service. Allthough, you need to combine the YOUMAIL service with TRAPCALL. This would be AWESOME! I am still trying to figure a way to have both. I think I will get it soon. It’s just a matter of numbers and forwards! We will see……

  85. gc says:

after getting a network error while trying to enter that long ass number and trying to manually change the forward unanswered calls/voice mail option on my tmobile sidekick slide and getting another error it is safe to say this DOES NOT work with t mobile flex accounts.

  86. john says:

:You can remove TrapCall from your phone by dialing: ##004# (cancels voicemail call forwarding)
-If you have problems getting AT&T or T-Mobile to work you can dial 611 from your phone and ask them to MANUALLY setup your voicemail call forwarding to forward to 1-866-967-6590 and TrapCall will work.
-TrapCall is for cell phones only, it is not for landlines.”

I did this too. AT&T does not permit you to change your pilot number to this 866 number, however; I did forward my calls to this 866 number then called my cell with a blocked number, still nothing… WTF? Need Assistance!

    Thank You!

  87. Joe E says:

I signed up on 2/17/09,Unfortunately it does not work,i.e. Call Block,Caller ID UnBlock.

  88. Steve S says:

How do I re sign in on the same phone # ? I accidentally used my call forwarding feature to send my calls to a landline & it made the trapping feature inoperable. When I try to re-sign up from scratch your website gives me the error message, “Sorry but this number is already registered” Can you purge my number from the system so that I can re sign back up ? Customer support won’t answer my plea unless you are a Paying Customer. HELP !!!! I Want to upgrade my account & can’t now. Everything worked perfectly with AT&T until this.

  89. MATT says:

I had all the setup done but at the end when I was requiered to add in the last call to *004*18669676590*011# and it didnt work error message came up. I use AT&T. Any suggestion, also when I call lets says spoof to the 1-866# it doesnt go through which I believ has something to do as well.

  90. Tim says:

Just signed up, can’t wait to try it. One question: can I forward (by rejecting) a normal, unblocked number to make use of the blacklisting service? Thanks, guys, great idea!

  91. Ray says:

This may sound like a stupid question, but is an “unknown” call the same as a blocked or restricted call? I ask because on my iPhone 3G with AT&T, when I receive an unknown call, I never got a ring back with the real phone number, but the call shows up on my trapcall control panel as my phone number and is labelled as voicemail.

  92. Lejla says:

So this competes with the SpoofCard and they void each other?
Why would you come up with the products that are already existing – these are just a caller ID and *67 new way.
And what if someone uses my number with your SpoofCard?

  93. David says:

    Great,,, Works as advertised!!!

  94. zonierunner says:

ADMIN: If Sprint and Verizon are not supported (any others?), why are you making them available in your dropdown menu when you create an account? It seems you could avoid grief on the user side if you tell us up front which carriers are / are not supported.

  95. ScottyB says:

Works great on my iPhone. I did it as a test for my clients.
Now I want to UNDO the voicemail forwarding and put it back to NORMAL and there are no instructions anywhere to do so.
It does work and my voicemail seems to be oeprating normally, but how the heck to you UNDO all the iphone voicemail forwarding things that I did during registration.

It went smoothly, but was complex in nature and now I dont know how to UNDO it.
Please post the UNDO instructions for the ATT iphone….PLEASE!!!!

  96. ScottyB says:

nevermind…… I found the undo instruction in the account settings page. EASY!!!

    Thanks guys.!

  97. Transcend says:

The incoming call recording feature only seems to work for the blocked calls once answered. I called my cell phone directly without blocking the number and there is no incoming call recording. I blocked the number and called and then answered and that was recorded, did it twice. How do I activate the feature to record all incoming calls?

  98. Rod B says:

Does this work with “Private” calls?

  106. Jeff says:

Setup worked fine on Att. I have two other problems.
    1. If you decline you have a 50/50 shot at the caller not hearing anything on the line. No ringing at all.
    2. No voicemail at all. Having the service on has stopped my voicemail from responding at all.

    Ideas?

    iPhone 3 G problem w/correction.

Took a little brain work, but I have it working on our two iphone w/ AT&T.

It did not send me a confermation code was the problem!!!!

I used my 10 digit phone number in place of the +44xxxxx, that shows up after setp 2 on the iphone, the system called with the confermation code, then went in to my account , edited the carrier forward number to the +44xxxxxx. Works Like A Chap!

****note after editing the carrier forward number you’ll need to follow steps for the phone program again. 1 thru 3

  114. Dave says:

If the iPhone 3G is on standby (black screen) and a call comes in, the only option appears to be “slide to answer”. How do you reject the call?

  115. Serina says:

I cant figure this out. Before I registered, I used the code u guys posted just to see what would happen. Nothin did, so I attempted to register and it is telling me I already am. When I try to get my pin thru the link, it tells me that invalid username/pin. can someone helppp!

  116. MOTO TECH 925 says:

    Dave with your iPhone

    The answer to your question.

See the button on the top right of your iphone. the one next to the ear piece plug.

Press it 2 to 3 times to reject the call.

  117. qwerty says:

waste of time – no verizon or sprint? seems like the majority of mobile users can’t use this product lol

  118. Deadhead says:

I signed up for this yesterday on my iPhone, but by the end of the day I ended up having to turn it off. When I initially signed up, the sign-up process seemed to go smoothly. However, I had two people call me. First was a friend who sent a blocked call so I could see if it worked, and another friend of mine who called, but I missed the call. In both cases their calls were sent to some poor guy in Florida. Nothing went to my voicemail. I later tried to call my phone with a friend’s phone and I got the guy in Florida again. We got to talking and he said he started getting all kinds of calls from people all across the country (not just mine).

I like the concept of TrapCall, but I don’t like the idea that nothing goes to my voicemail. I’m a bit jealous it seems to be working for other people.

  119. MOTO TECH 925 says:

    Dead Head

Something happened like that to me while tring to get the system to work. It was going to a Fax line or data line some where.

I unprogrammed the iphone step ##004# on the setup, ONLY.

I edited the carrier call back number to +144xxxxxx as a reset to the carrier forwarding. ” just chose the same carrier and put back in the +144xxxxxxx

I then went through the set up of just the phone set up 1 thruogh 3 again.

  120. Mike says:

Simply amazing! I’ve tested the blocked caller feature, worked like a charm and unblocked the call. I tested the blacklist feature and it kicks the call to a “This number has been disconnected” recording LOL awesome!

    BTW, I’ve got a Iphone 3G.

  121. bard says:

Update on using with my Blackberry on AT&T: Perseverance was the key. I retried 3 or 4 times. It eventually worked. Waiting for my first prank caller!

  122. Misha says:

    how do I cancel this?

  123. David says:

You are advertized, and put out there “works with major carriers”……….. I have Alltel, and Verizon, needless to say IT DOES NOT WORK AND IS NOT SUPPORTED? When might the service be working for all to use and enjoy? A little misleading at best, and I can really push your information to others, but, it does NOT support two, actually now the largest carrier.

  124. Daniel says:

iPhone 3G, ATT….free version does NOT work. More importantly, the instructions to disable it do not work. Now my phone no longer fwds to voicemail. When I hit Dismiss on an incoming blocked call (from my home line), caller gets a busy, rather than going to v/mail. When I hit the button to silence the ring, caller keeps hearing ring, but no v/mail…instead it just re-rings the iPhone after 6 (silent) rings.
As to your support page, why no info?? Just a support form…who knows how long it takes you to reply, esp with an AP story appearing this morning?

  125. nick says:

i have the 2g iphone unlocked and when i hit ignore it wont send me the call back but my friend has an unlocked 2g for t moblie same as me and his works fine what did i do wrong?

  126. Bobby says:

When you get a call on your Iphone and you do not get the option to reject the call just hit the power button twice (The button on top of the iphone). That will reject the call.

  127. Cor S. says:

I’m a paid member and I noticed that the system was working beautifully mid day yesterday when it came to recording incoming calls & seeing missed calls. I was amazed yesterday with how well this product worked but The system is no longer catching all of the calls anymore. It only catches about 5% of calls now, based on test calls made to it. Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

  128. K.S. says:

It seemed to set up on my iPhone (2nd Gen Edge).
Too bad they don’t finish the process by offering to call from a blocked phone so I don’t have to insult my stepmother by asking her to call so I can test it.
They should improve the instructions for iPhone-specific as it is confusing as terms used don’t match iphone.
I REALLY want this on my land line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many companies I do business with block ID, and so I can’t block all as a rule.

  129. Chris W PDX says:

Trapcall works with Youmail with a little help from Trapcall support!

I use a T-mobile Blackberry with Youmail and the Trapcall service is working for me after an email to support. I have a free account and tech support did help me.

    The steps I followed were:

    1) Register for Trap-call service online

    2) Retrieve PIN # from T-Mobile voicemail, not Youmail by dialing 123 send.

    3) log into Youmail account, choose My Account, choose My Phones, choose “Forward unanswered calls to YouMail”, copy the phone number that is between the *004* and the #. for me it was 171420431xx (I changed the last 2 numbers of all phone numbers to x’s for this post just in case others use a different number)

    4) I emailed Trapcall support via their website a message like this: “(714) 204-31xx is the phone number my T-mobile phone uses to access my Youmail voicemail via conditional call forwarding . Voicemail is provided by http://www.youmail.com. I’d love to be able to use trapcall with Youmail.”

The next day I got this reply:

    “Dear Valued Customer,

I have updated your account to use that phone number to
    forward voicemails.

Please dial *004*1866967659xx*11# and hit send. If this does
not work you will be able to dial *004*171420431xx*11# to
program your phone back to their service. I hope everything
    works!”

I followed the instructions, tested – thought it was not working, reentered the dial string, waited 15 min, tested again and it works!

    Chris

  130. Rick says:

Canada wants this service too…please hurry…:-D

    Yes we Canada..!!

  131. JT says:

I get annoying calls from unknown number. I signed up for the free account and find that the unknown number resolves to 999-999-999..hmmm. So I blacklisted that number. I still receive the calls from unknown number. I though blacklisting would prevent those calls from even getting to my phone? Aren’t the calls forwarded to trapcall first? or only forwarded once I reject them? If I still get the calls, then blacklisting doesn’t work like it should.

    • Juan says:

I am having the same issue. When I contacted support, they said that this only happened when people called from places that had no information. What?!?!? I thought that’s what Trap Call was for? Evidently, Trap Call does not deal with UNKNOWN calls, but rather BLOCKED calls. Wish I would have known this prior to the process.

  132. Carey says:

For all us iPhones users in Canada… please set up Trapcall as soon as possible. Thanks!!

  133. Carey says:

For all us iPhone users in Canada… please set up Trapcall as soon as possible. Thanks!!

  134. francesca says:

What’s the call forwarding # or the last part of the programming to enable the trapcall?

    It’s something with *004*18669676590*011#? it for t-mobile.

  135. Fred says:

Would love for this service to work with Vonage!!

  136. Bobby says:

I notcied it said check with your carrier to see if any hidden charges may apply. Wonder what hidden charges could be lurking? Maybe we will all get a phone bill for $100 extra dollars!!

  137. Linden says:

It works great! I just set it up today and tested it with my house phone. Oddly enough someone’s been calling from a private number lately and I have no idea who. But now I will! Thanks!

The only thing is that I tested out the blacklisting option. I blocked my house phone number. Then I called my cell but it still rang. Only when my cell was off or I rejected the call did it give me the “Number Disconnected” message. I think it would be better if the call didnt go through at all. Other than that though, this service is great!!

  138. Rob says:

I also got the number 9999999999 as the resolved number. does this indicate that whoever is calling me is using another product to block the number?
what does this mean… anyone know?

    Thanks!

    –Rob

    • Kim says:

I had the same thing happen. When I tried to reject it to unblock it, it came up with the number 9999999999. I would like to know the answer also…

    • iSEPIC says:

Someone is spoofing the 999-999-9999 number, so since it’s not blocked, the number you get will be 999-999-9999.

  139. Ryan says:

    No TracFone??

  140. Amanda says:

This is so creepy. Who cares who’s calling you. If you don’t know then just don’t answer. People have lived for ages without these features.

  141. Joe says:

Thanks… works great with iPhone 3G jailbroken :)

  142. Steve says:

iPhone 3G here: WORKS exactly as described. I followed the instructions to the letter and had no issues (it might be a good idea to add enter all characters for forwarding number including +’s, etc.). I then created a new contact called z – TrapCall and entered ##004# as the mobile number and *004*18669676590*011# as other number. Now it is easy to turn it off an on (probably will only turn off if I need to forward my phone to another number for some reason).

Called myself with *67 to test and pressed the power / sleep button on iPhone twice to reject (normally this goes to voicemain), call came back in a few seconds with ID this time, pressed the power / sleep button twice again and it went straight to voicemail (exactly like I expected it to, since it was no longer a blocked ID).

    Cool and thanks

  143. Lucky says:

For those getting “unknown” calls that won’t come back with the real number: There is a difference between “unknown” and “blocked/private” unknown is what is known as an ANI fail/CPN fail, this means NO NUMBER WHATSOEVER was sent, it’s like when you see ‘out of area’ instead of private/blocked on a landline. You can not ‘unblock’ when there is no number being sent in the first place.

  144. ALICIA says:

I am so glad I found this! Now I can find out the person who’s been calling me private.

  145. Transcend says:

Since this is a Beta version hopefully this information will help in refining the product.
I have the BearTrap and while in general the product works; there are things that may seem obvious but would be very helpful if the website had more information on prior to signing up; i.e. what to expect and how to use TrapCall. I did not initially realize that unanswered calls will not go to my voice mail, something very important to me as my cell phone is my business phone and at times I cannot answer it. I assumed only rejected calls would go through the TrapCall system and unanswered calls would go to my voicemail. I would like to see the product work “on demand”; in other words if I reject the call it goes through the system to unmask, record, etc.; but if not rejected and simply unanswered the call goes to my voice mail. If that cannot be done then a simple way to toggle the TrapCall feature on and off would be helpful. From reading the blog posts this seems to be a common concern. As it is I may have to cancel the product, which I don’t want to do as it works well otherwise, because I cannot afford to not have my clients be able to leave a voice mail. If anyone on the blog has a fix for this please post it. Thanks

    • kal says:

did u ever get an answer to your concern about missed calls not going to voicemail? this is a huge concern for me too as access to a computer to chk msgs is sporatic. i am using the free version.

  146. kal says:

    t-mobile
1.missed calls still go to voicemail(and web)…thats a good thing
2.apparently the blacklist does not stop the number from texting obsessively. anyone know a work around?
    3. t-mobile allows you to stop accepting all text msgs, and I am ready to take that option but wonder if stopping my text thru my carrier will affect trapcall from functioning properly. anyone have a clue?
if yes plz post your ideas. im not wanting to do anything till i know im not making an error.
    thx

  147. AJ says:

Installed on my first gen iPhone, but now my voice mail no longer works. When people call the phone just rings and eventually disconnects instead of going to voice mail.

  148. TILO says:

((((((WARNING MUST READ))))) READ BELOW but first.. hey Admin can u answer my question, can you guys come up with a solution for flex pay customer using t mobile. we cant forward our voicemail and this seems to be your only weakness. I understand the call must go to your servers through the voicemail feature but is their another way to do this? Flex-pay customers can not use trap call. Check with your provider to make sure you can forward your voicemail to another number before signing up for this. the way this system works is a server gets the call once its rejected by your phone, the forwarding command kicks in and send the call to the number entered in the code when you signed up instead of your voicemail… some companies wont let you forward your voicemail, which means if you cant forward your voicemail trap call will not work for you.

Trapcall please find a fix for this…

  149. Wolf says:

Hey Kal you should just get a app for the iphone to block unwanted text messages.

  150. Wolf says:

Voicemail still works. you just need to rerecord your voicemail with about a 20 second lapse at the beginning. It seems like calls go through the server, then to your voicemail. During this period your voicemail message may be over already.

  151. kal says:

    thx wolf.

Block List….AWESOME! Good by debt collectors!

  156. Dale says:

for those of you who have boost or nextel, it DOES work, but not fully. i have the service trapping calls, but it does not forward the calls back to me or send me the sms with the info, but i CAN get online and view them. as you all know, trapcall does not support those two carriers, but the two carriers DO support call forwarding, which is all you need to make the service work, you just have to know how. bobby underscore nuts at yahoo dot com. put “trapcall for nextel” or “trapcall for boost” in the subject line and i will send instructions

  157. kal says:

1.is there a way to change my pin?
    2. does it change when i disable/ then enable trapcall?
3.when i revert to normal does that unblock my blacklist? This is important to know.
4.Why is text not blocked for numbers on blacklist?

    anyone???
    thx tons

  158. Stacy says:

I asked the support service how the ‘free’ accounts are financed and the response was that they… “will induce heavy advertising on free accounts”. I had carefully read the fine print before signing and purposely looked for any evidence of possible future spaming from a horde of advertisers. The only thing I saw in the fine print was that Trapcall will be sending me emails, with an opt-out provision. That’s Ok, I can handle email from only Trapcall. I just wish they would have made that information a little more obvious. I’m sure a lot of potential customers who are cautious like me and will shy away from what may appear to them as a typical ‘something for nothing’ scam. If they were told forthright that only Trapcall would be sending emails for upgrades, or whatever, then it would be no real reason to shy away.

  159. Mike says:

    THANKS!

  174. pat says:

how do u blacklist a number??

    • kal says:

As far as I know you can do this only thru control panel on website. I would like to know whether once blacklisted does a number remain blacklisted even if you do not have trapcall enabled?

  175. Jay says:

    This does not work!!!

  176. J Money says:

Major Tom! Great idea! Please say we will have the option of what we want the blocked call list to hear when they call us. What would be awesome is if you could select “doo doo doo” or “this line has been disconnected” for each line individually based on user preference. Any chance of that happening?

  177. Kick says:

What happens If I get the BearTrap and after 15 days free trial period? What happens then? Do I get a bill from T-Mobile?

  178. Mr. Chuck says:

Has anybody using the BEAR TRAP level EVER actually received “Billing Name and Address” like it promises??? I would not mind paying the extra $ if this feature really worked. – Even if it was not full-proof but worked most of the time I would step up and pay the $24.95. I am still on my 15 day trial stage… so is the why I am NOT getting the “Billing Name and Address”??? Is there anybody out there that is on the BEAR TRAP now that is getting this information. Recording of calls is nice but I will not pay the extra 15 bucks a month JUST for that. Thanks!

    • Charles says:

I have the Bear Trap and I used to get a text of the billing name, but lately I dont get anything. I’ve never gotten the address, so I sent an email and I hope they get this resolved.

  179. jeff says:

I am having no luck blocking calls with my Tmobile / Samsung Behold Phone. Limited success on “unknown” calls being trapped? Any suggestions? I have way too many marketing and other annoying calls. I love the concept. I just want it to work. I am using the free version for now.

  180. patiofurniture says:

Please please hurry on getting Verizon- I am going mad with Restricted caller calls every day!

  181. Tom says:

Beta technology is good, but how do I Disconnect the service?

  182. JHCJr says:

    Question-

Since trapcall utilizes “Conditional Call Forwarding” is there a per-minute charge levied by the wireless carrier?

AT&T charges $0.15 per minute to forward calls. I am not sure if this applies to “Conditional Call Forwarding.”

If there IS a charge, I will be selective with using Call-Recording, etc.
    Thanks!

    BTW, Great Product!

  183. James Ellis says:

Why does it take so long to get the VM transcription? Are you using real people, or software? Most of the time, it takes about 5-10 minutes to get the transcription (this is with me actively checking my mailbox).

Phonetag and Spinvox both take less than a minute in most cases to provide the transcription.

I’m hoping this is just beta blues, and that the service will be more responsive, as I am otherwise sold. You guys are cheaper than Phonetag AND Spinvox, and provide much more functionality!

  184. heide says:

this application works great on my G1 google cell phone and it unblocks the numbers and all. But I tried to get into my TrapCall account online and I forgot my password. I clicked on recover password and typed in my cellphone #. But I didn’t get the password sent to my cellphone or to my email. I emailed support but they haven’t got to me yet. So it’s a waiting game for me now :o (

  185. Jacob says:

This works on my iPhone 3G only when the phone is in “active” mode. When the phone is “idle” mode, since the iPhone has no option to reject a call other than “Slide to answer”, this will not work with iPhones. or is it me? am I missing something? When the phone is in active mode, there are option to “Decline” or “Answer”. In this case it works! any suggestions friends?

  186. Jacob says:

Ok guys, I found the solution! If any body else had the same problem, the solution is to click “sleep” button twice to reject a call. So finally for me, YES it works on iPhone!!!!!

  187. jose pedroza says:

  191. Lo Lo says:

Okay, so it sends a text message everytime someone calls? is that true? I haven’t had a problem yet. Is it eternally free?

  192. frank says:

when you blacklist a # yes your phone will ring u can quickly reject it and it will take the caller to a your number has been disconected. or you can let it ring untill that happens as well or you can pick up so its cool cause it give u the option to answer it or make like ur phone has been disconected which is nice

    • kal says:

Wish they could figure out a way to disallow blacklist rings. obsessive callers can still drive you insane. i will try setting a silence ring for blacklist numbers i guess. thx for your answer. Do you know whether a blacklisted number stays blocked if you unprogram trapcall? Just wondering as another feature (missed call voicemails are not accessable from my phone) is a problem for my business. I see a number but no voicemail.

i have a tmobile prre paid phone. each time I try to program my phone with the *004*1866..etc… it just tells me REQUEST NOT COMPLETED? Is this b/c it’s a pre paid & not a contract tmobile cell#?

    • Eirik says:

Doesn’t work for anyone on flex pay, or to go accounts from what I’ve read up to this point. Sorry Im in the same boat as you. Good luck & Ill get back to you if I figure it out.

  194. Edog says:

I have the same problem as above…I call the *004* number, but I have a pre paid too. The reason I have a pre-paid is because some coke dealing cunt had a bug put on my last real cell phone 2 years ago. She used this to learn me, stalk me, harass me, and well..ruin my life.

Beat that. They don’t come at me on the phone now because I use throwaways, but I want to test this out…just out of curiousity.

  195. Titine says:

works great with my HTC Fuze from AT&T…thnx

  196. Austin says:

I have a Blackjack 2 with AT&T and it worked fantastic. Awesome thing you have going!

  198. Gex says:

  199. Dave says:

  200. Mario Medalion says:

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, develop this software for Europe. Please let me know when I can use it with my iPhone and Vodafone

  201. Mr. Chuck says:

Hey, what about getting the promised “Billing Name and Address” with the “BEAR TRAP” level? Again, why would I pay the extra 15 bucks a month (above and beyond the MOUSE TRAP” level if it is going to do nothing more the just record the call.
DOES ANYBODY HAVE BEAR TRAP AND ARE THEY GETTING THE “BILLING NAME AND ADDRESS”????
    Thanks guys.

  202. wendy says:

Can’t get this to work on my iPhone. Is there a way to start over again with the numbers that I was supposed to input into my phone? Please help. Thanks!

  203. Summer says:

Before you praise READ THIS !!

So now you know who’s calling you! End telemarketing? How? like you are going to travel out of state to tell them to stop- or thats going to work? Yes its useful to see when your friend is calling you and they have a blocked number or the psycho ex girlfriend.. but what about these people:

    1. Battered women who are trying to stay safe but have children and the child calls grandma to say hi and now the ex has the address of her new location.

    2. Stalker – yes there are annoying guys / girls who are /become obsessed with others – some get dangerous!

    3. You bring some work home which may require you to do follow up calls, now these people have your home contact info and decide they want to start calling you at home to answer questions.

    4. Cheaters – i guess it serves you right, but wont it be nice to have your partner stumble across the log of WHO CALLED you!! Then you can explain why “Elizabeth” or “Jerry” has called every day.

    5. Volunteers – they may have a list of people they have to contact (legit) but does that make it right for THEIR personal info to be given out.

Yeah, you may be happy to know all this and have all this information on everyone that calls you, but remember YOUR information, will now made available to someone else. This is honestly a HUGE invasion of privacy.

    • kal says:

invasion of privacy = unknown caller calling me 140 times a day, (Not exaggerating) filling my voicemail with dead air
robbery= the cost to me. t-mobile charges to chk voicemails. some unknown calls are legit business calls. Most are not. I cannot risk dumping a legit business call. I cannot take the time or aggravation of chking and clearing my voicemail multiple times a day. Psychopaths are not stupid, they know exactly how effective they can be with the unknown priveledge. I am sure they are very concerned at this point that their right to privately torment people is at least slowed at this point….
… looking at the whole picture might be a good idea…

      • GEORGE says:

thank you! read my post too lol… same situation… the cause of my recent break up. gf lost trust in me because id reject every unknown call id get.. which was like 100 times a day. and when i did pick up, it was just dead air… one time i did get a “hey baby…………hey baby”, but when i asked wtf it is, no answer… this app is a godsend!!! sorry law enforcement. either way, i dont think most people (victims or suspects) are knowledgeable about this app

      • Charles says:

You talk about invasion of privacy, but what about the right to know who’s blowing up my phone. If you don’t want someone to know you’re calling, there are plenty of ways around it or you could just not call.

  204. kennedy says:

i tried it with another phone that had tmobile and it worked great!
but the version for verizon isn’t up yet?
any idea when this feature will be available?

  205. @Summer says:

Summer, don’t be a noob, use a spoofcard if you worry about your privacy =)

  206. Mr.

  207. Joel says:

So, does this work with VoIP like Skype when you have a regular phone number assigned to your account and VoIP handset phone?

  208. Not Happy says:

I upgraded to paying account to get cust service to sort out connection issues – guess what – after sitting on hold on cust service – several times now – I am forwarded to an answering machine to leave a message which never gets returned…too bad…great concept

  209. Danny says:

Just put it on my IPHONE 3G, works flawlessly.

  210. Jessica says:

I have an iPhone from AT&T and had a little bit of trouble getting this to work so I wanted to share what I learned with others.

AT&T customer service reps are not permitted to set up conditional call forwarding to a toll-free number. The AT&T website also clearly states this policy. So, do not call AT&T to request conditional call forwarding because they will balk at an 866 number.

The thing that worked for me was to set up call foward busy as described in the following post from the website getsatisfaction.com.

To Activate Call Foward Busy to the Trap Call number 866-967-6590:
    *67*8669676590*11#

you will do all these codes from the phone app…
[dest] refers to the destination number remember to use 10 digits. [sec] refers to the delay before forwarding on, 5-30 sec in 5 sec increments.

    Forward All:
    Activate: *21*[dest]*11#
    Cancel & Retain: #21*11#
    Re-establish: *21*11#
    Cancel & Forget: ##21*11#
    Status: *#21*11#

    If Busy:
    Activate: *67*[dest]*11#
    Cancel & Retain: #67*11#
    Re-establish: *67*11#
    Cancel & Forget: ##67*11#
    Status: *#67*11#

    if no answer:
    Activate: *61*[dest]*11*[sec]#
    Cancel & Retain: #61*11#
    Re-establish: *61*11#
    Cancel & Forget: ##61*11#
    Status: *#61*11#

    If Unreachable:
    Activate: *62*[dest]*11#
    Cancel & Retain: #62*11#
    Re-establish: *62*11#
    Cancel & Forget: ##62*11#
    Status: *#62*11#

  212. Dhora says:

i have a bb curve and everything if fine up until it asks me to dial *004*18669676590*11# it says “supplementary error: call barred” it doesnt work on my phone!!! grrr… any suggestions???

  213. person42 says:

When will this be ready for verizon….try to get it soon please

  214. Mr. Chuck says:

Does anybody have “BEAR TRAP” level up and running yet? How much of the time are you getting the BILLING NAME AND ADDRESS as is promoted on the site? I would gladly pay the 24.99 per month IF, and only IF the Billing Name and Address showed up on most (or even many) of the calls.

    • Transcend says:

I used Beartrap until they discontinued service to Hawaii. It NEVER came up with a billing name and address, only the telephone number and a general geographical location (obviously based on area code). I communicated this to them and they replied that it shows address only if it is a public database. The test numbers I called from are listed with the name and address in three telephone directories, available from 411 services, on numerous websites, and from all of the public database providers that I use in my business. While the unmasking works okay to display a number, I NEVER RECEIVED AN ACTUAL NAME AND OR BILLING ADDRESS. Something they need to work on.

  215. Gil says:

All calls coming in are now reverting to voicemail. How do I cancel this service with you?

  216. Diamond Dave says:

Works like a charm. Fly Trap setup in 2 minutes on my 2 month old T-Mobile Android G1. Tested it by using *67 from another cell phone. It took about a total of 3-4 rings before the blocked number showed up.

    One bug report:
No data loss, fix in next release or service pack.

When I am the caller calling into the TrapCall phone, if I am sent to VM that is not configured with a custom message, but just uses the default voice speaking the called phone number, the area code is clipped off or not heard. Only the last 7 numbers can be heard by the caller listening to the outgoing message from VM.

  217. Leslie says:

I just tried it on my iPhone and it works like a charm. I’m spreading the word like mad. Thanks very much. What an AWESOME program. I love it!

  218. Brian says:

Somebody PLEASE help me with ihpone first generation setup. I completed all the setup steps. WHen I call from a blocked number and plus the button on the top twice, the blocked phone I am calling from gets a busy signal. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!

  220. henry says:

  221. bill says:

I love this feature but now when a call goes to my voicemail all you get is a fast busy signal not my voicemail
    HELP !!!!

  222. Dave says:

I dont understand why the blacklist does not work. I have an Iphone 3g and the unmasking works fine. But blacklist doesn’t. The Service is great and would be willing to pay for the better service but if the free version doesn’t work correctly why should I pay and have it not work.

  223. Michael says:

This service works great with the T-Mobile Sidekick!! I love it already! :-)

  224. Andrew says:

Let’s get Canadian support for this soon please, or at least for Canadian virgin mobile customers!
Lots of people here would be willing to pay for this.

  225. Christian says:

When will it be ready for verizon?

  226. Sam says:

  227. john says:

I need to find out something regarding this system. How does call forwarding work with at&t ? do they charge each time we ignore the call or what? I also have sprint and i think they charge 20 cents per call forwarding or somethin like that or maybe we could use magic jack hmm? we’ll see what charges we receive from our carriers soon though, i just hope it not like per anything

  228. concerned cop says:

As a law enforcement officer I often have to use my personal cell phone to call both suspects and victims. I always block my number before calling. With this service I won’t have anyway of protecting my personal cell phone number from people that really shouldn’t have it.

    • kal says:

Are you suggesting that our personal privacy is less important than yours?
How would you suggest we ‘citizens’ “protect our personal cell number from people that really shouldnt have it???? ”
      hmmmm?

If you are on the job 50 hours a week, that leaves somewhere around 118 hrs you are ‘joe blow’ just like the rest of us…during those hours, am i free to call you unknown at all hours? As many times as i ‘feel like it’? Leaving you with no recourse except to change your phone number? I have changed mine 4 times. How bout you? Not so cut an dry, in real life is it? Myybe your boss can talk the inpector gadget…or max smart and come up with something so you won’t have to use your personal phone to STING….innocent until proven guilty people, or crooks you failed to nail and sent back to the neighborhood.

Don’t even suggest letting the law deal with the psycho calls i get…you don’t want to go there.
….my phone service loves the unknown callers…cha ching cha ching! Yours too i bet.

      Hello, hello…anybody home????

…this country is going to hell in a handbasket…

Thx Trapcall for the peace I have had since Feb. 17th!

      • Scott says:

Kal, you’re an idiot. His post was respectful and simply listed an issue he had. You responded like a madman. Grow up.

  229. concerned cop says:

Please allow law enforcement officers to be exempt from the unblocking.

  230. JIP says:

The numbers I blacklist are still ringing on my phone. I can see them on trapcall call log and it shows that they are being blocked, but they are still ringing on my phone. Any idea why blacklist is not working? I do not think the brand of my phone is important, but just in case I am using a Nokia E70.

    • kal says:

same thing here. i am thinking the solution is to put a no ring or silence on the numbers that are blocked. It rings for you but they get the disconnected msg regardless. I tested this.Hope the powers that be will silence those blacklisted numbers for us soon????

  231. GEORGE says:

FINALLY!!!!! IVE BEEN GETTING BLOCKED CALLS AT ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND NOW I KNOW WHO IT IS…. getting blocked calls from someone that doesnt respond when you pick up, other than the creepy breathing sound is not fun…

  232. Stephanie says:

I have a cingular Treo & although iv’e never unlocked it but my Tmobile sim works in the phone. I got the voicemail with the pin but when I put in the trapcall command ( *004*… ) my request could not be processed. Someone please help. I don’t know which stalker to curse out. lol! Thanks

  233. StealthTech says:

When will you expand to Canada?

  234. Concerned Citizen says:

Oink Oink, Mr Concerned Cop, easy don’t use your personal cell phone, get your cheap as* department to spring for one on get card spoof….

    • You sound like my retarded son in NC. You have to be a 10 year old using oink, oink…

      • kal says:

without the disrespect of the concerned citizen….and ignoring your not to ‘mature’ response….concerned citizen is on the right track in suggesting a spoof card. Why should you have the right to call me unknown…once or 140 times if that is your perogative? A law enforcement officer(???) using his own phone to call my number is no less an offender than is the psycho who thinks i deserve to be driven insane with hangups every 5 minutes thru the night. What type of law enforcement are we talking here? Repo man?

  235. Nano says:

I NEED THIS FOR SPRINT AND VERIZON PLEASE!!!

  236. Paul says:

My wife would like a job doing the voicemail transcription. How can she apply?

i have this service on my tmobile g1 & it works great. i reverted my calls thinking my 15days were up but there not! can anyone please tell me how do i get it back on my phone? thanx!

  238. Tam says:

Same here. Im willing to bet thats my stalker calling. all the other blocked calls come 4 some reason. But i would like the 999999999 revealed.

  239. Lani says:

How can I get my voicemail back?!!! I love this service, but my phone just rings & rings & rings, even after I hit ignore… please advise on how to get my voicemail back up & running…

  240. Interex says:

Just a heads up, the Motorola StarTac does NOT work with this. It does not have a call reject, only call silence feature. :)

  241. jessica says:

can anypne please tell me how 2 get my service back on my tmobile g1?

  242. jessica says:

can anypne please tell me how 2 get my service back on my tmobile g1?

  243. Julia says:

Just signed up yesterday for the free service and it works great. So far I have used it three times and all three times it has revealed the number to me. Thanks I was getting real tired of blocked numbers calling me. It turns out the people who have been calling me with a blocked number are people I know and who I already have phone numbers for. Why they have been blocking their calls beats me.

  244. Joe says:

I got it to work for Verizon but now my phone won’t let me read my voice-mails. (enV2)

  245. kal says:

    t-mobile
is anyone else having trouble with voicemail not coming thru well on website? sometimes i get a complete voicemail, other times there are big gaps in msg or there is only a clack clack clack sound alternating with dead air. I know a msg has been left cuz it lasts up to 3 minutes. Plz let me know if you have had this happen and whether you have found a solution or not. If i discover the cause i will report it here.
Also. when someone is blacklisted and continues to call, only now that person is calling unblocked from a blacklisted number, are they getting the disconnect msg? If a number is blacklisted and calling, why are they not showing up on my trapped calls?

  246. Harold says:

On the TERMS AND CONDITIONS appears right on the Customer Service Agreement:

    1. Services Provided
NOTE: By using the voicemail transcription feature you are authorizing TrapCall.com and its transcribers to access your voicemail box and listen to your personal voicemails.

    What is that mean?
What is the voicemail transcription feature?

    • Lucky says:

Voicemail transcription is where we transcribe your voicemail messages to text and SMS/EMAIL the voicemail, obviously we need your permission to listen to your voicemails in order to transcribe them if you choose to enable this feature. Your consent is only given if the feature is enable, by disableing the feature no one is listening to your voicemails. Our transcribers keep your voicemails private and confidential and only listen to them to transcribe the voicemail from voice to text so that we can email and SMS you your voicemails if you have this feature enabled.

  247. robert says:

my baby momma called me blocked last night. i unmasked the number and answered it, which of course she didnt say nothing when i answered. i called her back and she tried to deny it saying that i am “weird” … lol the bitch didnt have nothing to say when i told her that i knew she called me…. thanx trap call u really work!!!!

  250. whatever says:

If someone calls my cell from a blocked/private *landline* — will the landline number show up on my cell???

  251. John in Texas says:

Okay, I must have made somebody really mad in traffic Friday night. I do not even remember anyone with issues. They got my license plate and started making life threatening phone calls to my home phone. Called the police, filed a report on a blocked number. I knew I heard of trapcall in a tech story a few weeks back. Searched it, found it, installed it on my iphone. He calls back to my home phone saturday. Had not yet set the trap. Then I forwarded my home phone via *72 to my cell. Now the trap is set. Sunday he calls. GOT EM. Now I can go back to the police and give them his phone number. I should have signed up for the level that records and sends a text message. Will report back on what happens.

    • Keith says:

      John,

How can someone get your personal info. from your license plate?
This person with “issues” either works at DMV or knows someone
there. You need to contact a lawyer.

  252. Khaos says:

Please someone actually reply, I need this badly and they never answered my support question

My iPhone 3G is not receiving the Voicemail message with the Confirmation code.

    I am legit AT&T

    - Khaos

P.S. I have tried manually entering it, still no luck, the people either get a busy tone or just the sound as if someone hung up

  253. mark says:

Works like a charm on my iphone 3g

  254. Anybody having problems with AT&T Voice mail? I noticed when I setup the TRAPCALL and try to listen to VM I get the AT&T generic prompt. Then I have to enter my phone number to get messages. Why is this? I turn off TRAPCALL and BAM, back to normal. Check VM and it’s my inbox, NOT the generic message. Any ideas?

    ~BEN~

  255. John says:

Does each call send a text message. I am reading that it does, but I do not receive a text after a call. I am happing with not receiving one, just curious.

  271. Driver says:

This is the greatest program ever!!!! Thank You for those who created trapcall! :)

  272. Wanna Be a User says:

Can this be used for US Cellular?

  273. Jarret says:

Hi all, I don’t know if this will work for everyone but there is a fix for not having your voicemail forwarded to the trapcall number. If you go into your phone options under call options there are several options. Go to divert calls, under this tab you will see “divert always”, “when busy”, “not reachable”, and “no reply”…if you deactivate the ones that say not reachable and no reply and keep active the when busy option your problems will be solved. I left the divert always option untouched. I have tested this just now and if i call from a blocked number and hit the busy button on my cell phone it will divert the call and show the number…if i don’t pickup it will go to MY voicemail and not trapcalls…so basically everything is back to normal again. Oh yea, I’m using T-Mobile, don’t know if that matters as long as you have those options in your phone you can fix…there’s no need to cancel your trapcall account anymore and you won’t be getting any text messages saying to call the trapcall number to hear your voicemail. Either way it’s not a big deal…you can change your greeting on the trapcall voicemail so your friends wont get an odd message…there is however a 10sec commercial before your able to retrieve your messages

  274. Scott says:

I just canceled my trap call until they fix this mess.

  275. Scott says:

I tired Jarret’s suggestion. It didn’t work on my Blackberry from AT&T.

  276. FEELIN JIPPED says:

AT&T/Cingular and VERIZON customers are the two groups having the greatest complications with this. Unfortunately, I have units from both companies.

  277. Sandman says:

I tried Jarrett’s solution as well and it doesn’t work.

    I have At&T.

I’ll remained canceled until they fix. Although I learned if I just forward to the 866 number the program works and I don’t loss my data.

    • Jarret says:

it should work…if your not forwarding to the 866 number when your in no reply or not reachable then there is no possible way it can forward your voicemail to anything other then your normal voicemail location….when you deactivate the forwarding for those 2 options where does the voicemail go for you?

only forward to the 866 number when in busy mode and trapcall will tell you your number

this can’t only be working for me…anyone else having success?

  278. Alex says:

Ok I called 611 and had my voicemail forwarded to the 866 number but when I tried it and I called myself using another phone all I hear is a busy tone after I reject the call. I’m on tmobile by the way. Am I doing this correctly. What’s going on.

  279. Tristan says:

so i just tried to set this up with my iphone 3g. i get to step 3 and it says
“3. So it gave you a “Forwarding” number? Great! Type the entire number in the box!”

i enter in the number that comes up on my phone and it says

“Number must be located in the contiguous United States.”

i’m in california. anyone know how to fix this?

  280. Brooke5 says:

Ok so when I go to enter my forwarding number it keeps telling me that the number has to in the United States…I live in the US so not sure what to do. Anyone got any ideas???

  281. DC says:

Everytime Trapcall changes something, it doesn’t work. Last week, got an email about the change and people told me that my phone just kept ringing and then nothing. This week when they changed something, I got busy tone. I am not using Trapcall now.

They must test the software before rolling it live. This is not good. Maybe Trapcall thinks what you expect for something that is free. But, this is causing us to lost confident in your service. I work in QA department and this is definitely unaccpetable.

    • FEELIN JIPPED says:

I agree! I hope the team at Trapcall is listening. When they first began,
it worked right. All of a sudden, it went haywire, for who knows why.
      I thought is was only AT&T, Verizon, & iPhone customers having glitches;
now, I see that even T-Mobile has encountered some.

The most likely problem is that the technology is still in the working
stages and needs dire improvement before actually being available
      to the public.

    • DC says:

Probably they don’t have enough outbound lines to accommodate all the incoming calls.

      • Jamie Thompson says:

I just set up trap call today and i called from a landline but it showed up private instead of unavailable and it never called me back with the number it just gave a busy tone so i think that it just depends on where the number is coming from but this service is still badass ahaha

        hope that helps

  284. FEELIN JIPPED says:

I believe the main culprit for all this nonsense is due to
the fact that their SERVERS need improvement.

  285. Steve S says:

Is anyone else having trouble with the unmasking of calls?? Trap call worked flawlessly until yesterday. Instead of the blocked call getting unmasked, when it gets forwarded to trap call, you hear a recording stating “that all circuits are busy. Please try you call again later”. I tried resetting the phone using the codes but to no avail. The same thing is happening & no one can even leave a voicemail either.

    • Harry says:

steve mine is not working either

    • Heather says:

Where do you get the codes from? When I initially signed up, I was given a code and it never worked for me and now I have no idea how to get back to the codes to even try again…

I am a T-Mobile customer and I have a friend who says it works for her but she has a T-Mobile phone. I was with SunCom before the merge and I still have a SunCom phone and I can’t get it to work for me. Any suggestions? I have the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic phone. (Thanks!)

  286. kelly says:

Any idea when will this work 4 sprint????as soon as i heard bout they sight i tried 2 sign up

  287. LeA says:

I’m lovin the service, but why must i call washington to retrieve my voicemail? I like how it was before. :( can we get a toll free number?

  288. Jamie Thompson says:

Is it necessary for me to use your voicemail service in order for trap call to unblock numbers for me??? Or is it just a service that you provide to let customers have unlimited voicemail storage?

  289. LeA says:

    For T-Mobile G1 Users:

Not 100% sure fix buts working for me now.

If you want to continue to use Trapcall and your original voicemail:

Go to SETTINGS then open the CALL SETTINGS menu. From there open the CALL FORWARDING menu, there are four options “Always forward”, “Forward when busy”, “Foward when unanswered”, and “Forward when unreachable”.

Under each option EXCEPT ALWAYS FORWARD you will see “Forwarding to +18669676590″ select
“Forward when unanswered” a small window will open with the number your calls will be forwarded to when the calls are unanswered and three buttons “Update”, “Disable” and “Cancel”, select DISABLE this will disable the Trapcall 1866… number and restore the orignal voicemail. Leave the Trapcall number under the “Forward when busy” and the “Forward when unreachable”

The ONLY way it will forward the calls to the original voicemail is if you DO NOT answer the reveiled number. You will not recieve a text notification from Trapcall and the message will be in your original voicemail.

The numbers that are reveiled will be directed to Trapcall if you press the “end call” button to ignore the call. If you want it to go to the original voicemail try not to push that button and just silence the call.

Try it I hope it works for you it has for me.

If anyone knows another way that eliminates Trapcalls voicemail completely while continuing to use the service please let me know I would truely appreciate it.

I already tried what Jarret said it didnt work for me.

    • Jarret says:

Lea, what you said is exactly what i said to do

      • LeA says:

not exactly; you said to keep the busy and change the “no reply” and the “unanswered” mine just says change the “unanswererd.

your words “if you deactivate the ones that say not reachable and no reply and keep active the when busy option your problems will be solved.”

it doesnt matter thought watever works.

  290. Heather says:

  291. KEY says:

I keep getting the message: Number must be located in the contiguous United States.

  292. Alex says:

Ok that 866 number is not working. Everytime I test trapcall all I hear is one ring then a busy tone. What’s going on with trapcall. Are they having some kind of issue with the number.

  293. Jay says:

How do I get rid of Voicemail transcriptions?

I just dont want to keep getting text messages each time I get a voicemail. (and this voicemail system picks up even if the caller just hangs up.)

    Any help please?

  294. Bob Stone says:

I have it setup on 2 phones and neither is unblocking blocked calls. When call is rejected it goes right to trapcalls voicemail. I would pay for the service if it would work the way its suppose to…..

    • Nat says:

Bob, do you have 999-999-9999 blacklisted? If so, that is the problem, and you need to unblock. I had the same issue.

      • Bob Stone says:

I have no numbers blacklisted on both phones. Seems like im not the only one having problems..

        • Robert says:

I have 2 razor v3′s on at&t. One has the free account, one the paid. When I hit ignore, they both send straight to voicemail, instead of coming back to the phone with the number unblocked. I emailed support a few days ago, and still no reply.

  295. Ashley says:

I blocked a number on my account but he keeps callin me i need help soon cause i dont want this guy to keep callin me and I WANT HIM BLOCKED!!!

    • admin says:

Ashley, take a look at our FAQs page:

“When you first receive a call, you must reject or ignore the call. At this point the call is sent to TrapCall for unblocking and then sent back to ring your phone with the number unblocked. Incoming calls are not immediately unblocked without first being sent to TrapCall.”

  296. berta says:

trying to sign up! does not accept my carrier (sprint) than what good is trapcall, they will e-mail me when they can sign me up!How long will that be?

  307. iPhone User says:

I’ve been using Flytrap on my iPhone 3G, 2.2.1 Firmware, and Jailbroken since back in February. It worked flawlessly then. Lately I noticed it’s no longer unmasking calls or reporting phone logs back to my Control Panel. It says “Programmed” under my settings and I haven’t changed a thing. I’m not sure if Jailbreaking it had anything to do with it, but any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  308. Edward says:

This service messes up your bill. Because the calls get forwarded through the services, you don’t get your mobile to mobile free calls. It’s not worth knowing a stupid blocked number after seeing my bill of over 300 dollars because I stayed on the phone for what I thought was a Verizon to Verizon call…and didn’t realize it wasn’t the entire time because of the forwarding through an 866 number. It sucked.

  309. Ben says:

You don’t know how excited I was to find out that you guys have this technology and have made it available so cheaply! I’ve been getting prank calls from a perverted individual for over 7 months and changing my phone number is a big ordeal. I formerly worked in law enforcement investigating sex crimes and there’s a possibility this was related to retaliation from someone I formerly investigated. Local law enforcement is unwilling or unable to get a subpoena for the phone company to trace the blocked calls and I was running out of ideas. Now with this feature set up, we’ll be able to evidence the calls and find his identity for prosecution without going through the phone company. This has got to be the greatest news I’ve had in months. I’ll recommend your company to everyone, just let me know how I can help!

  310. Adria says:

I have been receiving “restricted” calls at all times of the day and night from a stalk chick. I knew it was a female and I was 99% sure who it was but could never prove it. I contacted my cell phone provider and the police only to be told to change my number. I changed it 3 times and still have been receiving harrassing calls.

I just signed up for trapcall.com today and within 30mins I was able to confirm who has been harrassing my phone for months. Thank you trapcall.com. This really works!

  311. Sam says:

Hey guys , i just wanna ask if once we cancel this service i mean deactivate after that if you wanna Activate back again . how to do that ? if any one know please reply me back . thnks

  312. shantal says:

my cell phone carrier is iwirless some where around here in iowa is there any way that my cellphone cerrier could be put on trapcall

    • Ale says:

it doesnt matter where you live in USA
but i think it has to do with what type of service carrier you have
for your phone such as Verizon, or At&t/Cingular.

  313. michelle says:

i never got a pin number. now i don’t know how to log back in without a pin number and it doesn’t work on my iPhone. Also, i never got a forwarding number to type into the box. can someone help please?? Thankksss

I signed up for trapcall and I changed the voicemail number like it said to do, not realizing that it would change my regular voicemail. How do I change it back on the iPhone???

  315. kat says:

me and my friend arent talking anymore but she still has my number and now all she can do is prank call me im just wondering does this work with SIDEKICKS?????

    • admin says:

Yes, TrapCall works on all Verizon, AT&T, and T-mobile phones, so long as you’re not on a restrictive plan on T-mobile like Flexpay, Prepaid or Family Allowances where T-mobile does not allow customers on these plans to use conditional call forwarding.

  316. Dar says:

I have a knock-off of the iPhone. I am an AT&T customer but I am not receiving the code. Can anyone help? I have a sciPhone. I also tried my old phone (motorola) and was not able to get a code either. What can I do to get this set up. I am willing to use either phone to find out who is calling me….

  317. mike says:

I signed up for trapcall and I changed the voicemail number like it said to do, not realizing that it would change my regular voicemail. How do I get in to my verizon regular voice mail i had importin msg

    • admin says:

With Flytrap you will retrieve your voicemails through our voicemail system by dialing 509 554 5555. Should you need to use your carrier voicemail you can just change your plan to BugTrap. FlyTrap is the free service it’s funded by our sponsors (you will get a brief message when you access your voicemail). BugTrap is advertisement free and therefor it does not require our voicemail system. Bug Trap is under 3 dollars a month!!

Otherwise just dial *73 SEND to turn TrapCall off.

I have a blackberry 8700G and its not working. I had my girlfriend test it by called me blocked from her cell phone. When I hit the “ignore” button on my phone, she got a busy signal. Her number was not revealed on my phone. What can I do to make it work? I called my cell phone company (tmobile) and they said that I AM set up for call forwarding, so that is fine. What gives? Looking forward to making this work. Thanks!

  320. Kevin says:

I just sign up to trapcall because every now and then I would get a blocked call around 2am saying all kinds of profanities. I busted the caller and was able to do a reverse number look up to find out their address just so that I could confront him. Turns out it was another dumb ass teenager and his parents gave him the whooping of his life. Thanks to trapcall I can truly sleep better at night, thanks guys for giving us this wonderful tool!

  321. Isabela says:

I got the free version for my iPhone 3G , setup worked perfectly and my friend prank called me to test it out and it worked . Then later she tried again and when I rejected it , it hung up on her . She kept on trying and it would either hang up on her or go to my AT&T voicemail . I had several different people try to call me with a blocked number too and the same thing happened . I deactivated FlyTrap and reinstalled it and it still wont work . I’m not sure why it only worked the first time ? Some help would be great , thanks .

The service won’t work with Rogers in Canada or Fido in Canada in the because Fido/Rogers took away the ability for users to control the conditional call forwarding options.

If i forwarded calls from a sprint number to a phone that has trap call on it why dont it unmask the private calls

    • admin says:

Sorry, that but that’s an unsupported method of unblocking. Your phone must be on either Verizon or AT&T at this time for the number to be unmasked.
