You asked for it, you got it.
TrapCall now supports Verizon Wireless!
We worked hard, and as fast as possible, to learn all the ins and outs of Verizon Wireless so you can take advantage of everything TrapCall has to offer and never get a blocked or restricted call again.
So, Verizon Wireless users…enjoy!

Hi Guys! It works perfect with my ATT cellphone! But how about MetroPCS, pls?
Just remember that Metro PCS is worthless…
my blacklist people can still call me, did i program it right?
I have the verizon dare also and some people on my blacklist can still call me and some cant. HELP!!!
i have the dare also and it works fine i wood just take it off then redo it
I AM HAPPY FOR ALL YOU VERIZON USERS!! BUT WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH US SPRINT USERS!!
WE ARE WAITING FOR TRAPCALL TO WORK WITH US!! I HAVE BEEN GETTING PRIVATE CALLS AT ALL HOURS AND I WANT TO KNOW WHO IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i would advised to change wireless services to verizon. keep you number and get the trap call… i had sprint and it really suck… Verizon is better.
Can u support us cellular!!! Please
I just signed up for the Bear Trap 15 day trial, but my LG Voyager (Verizon) no longer goes to voicemail, it just rings (I was trying to test it) and then gives the caller a busy signal. Anyone else having this problem? I also have transcription unchecked, and call recording turned off.
Hey Scott i have an LG Voyager too and it goes to voicemail too…..how can i fix that???
HEY U GUYS NEED TO LOG IN THROUGH TRAP CALL IN ORDER FOR YOUR PHONES SHOULD WORK…. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM SO I USED MY COMMON SENSE AND IT WORKED JUST FINE…. THERE IS NO BUGS ON TRAP CALL YOU JUST NEED TO HAVE COMMON SENSE AND LOG IN THROUGH TRAP CALL TO CONFIRM YOUR ACCOUNT….. PEACE!
Seriously you’re dumb.
seriously, u can lick my balls
can I video that? I split the profits!!
LOL
I have Verizon and my voicemail stopped working also and ##004# would not uninstall it from my phone, I did a live chat and found out it’s *73 for Verizon phones and I also had to reboot the phone but it’s back to normal now. I will try trapcall again if they work out the bugs.
Sorry to hear the bad news. I guess I should of read these post before trying trapcall on my verizon phone. I have the W755 from verizon and now I can no longer access my voice mail from my phone or use my home phone to call my cell phone and access my voice mail that way because my cell phone will no longer go to voice mail. Good thing I have a home phone with voice mail because trapcall jacked up my verizon phone and I have no idea how to correct the mess they have cased without taking it back to the verizon store and having them fix the problem.
Try hitting *73. That’s what I did because I couldn’t access my voicemail either. Now I can. But I canceled my account with trap call as well.
how did you cancel I have this on my device and i did not set this up how can i stop this trap call
I have the same problem!
Trap call with my verizon LG deactivates my voicemail? Hit *73. You will get your voicemail back. I had to call verizon to figure that one out! Until this is fixed you will have to decide between unmasking private calls and voicemail w/ verizon.
WOOO HOOO
That did it *73 thats it all I had to do on my Blackberry Storm…. works perfect again!!!
I feel like getting a phyco girlfriend just to mess with her!
I have the same problem with my VZW it rings and if I don’t answer it the call comes back to me again then if I hit ignore it just gives a busy signal… I know it worked when I first installed it…
My Verizon LG Voyager did the same thing, Joe. It would work, and now it stopped working…
does it only work with people that are in your contacts list?!?!?! This is bugging me badly!
Hey Scott, my EnV does the same thing now too. No way to get voicemail. Looks like they need some work on Verizon still.
Anyone know if this will work with Youmail? I have my Verizon Omnia set to use Youmail for VM.
when i forward my phone to the trapcall number it tells the callers that this number has been disconnected. please help. i have verizon
Since Alltel Is merging with Verizon Wireless, will alltel phones work as well if you click the verizon tab or is it still separate, and also when alltel does merge with verizon do alltel customers have to redo this process again?
YEs It Will Just Answer The 444-444-4444 Call Fast and There You Go
Yes it will work with alltel to unblock if you use the Verizon tab, but for some reason your voicemail will no loger work.. i gues they have to fix that others have had this problem too
Should have read the comments first. Just signed up with Verizon phone, and now no voicemail. Unprogrammed with *73 and I’m back to normal. Whew.
I didn’t comprehend the whole thing either.
Watch the video linked at the trapcall twitter site – *then* you’ll get it.
Here’s the youtube address clear:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YY8OnLAOfS4
I’ll try to get a link here, but I’m not sure if this site will accept HTML:

It doesn’t do a thing if you just stare at your phone (I have a Verizon Palm Treo 700WX)
You have to “decline” (on my Treo it’s “ignore”) the call 1st – **THEN** it cycles through trapcall, they’ll strip the block off and the phone quickly rings now showing the number. If it’s someone you don’t have time for at the moment, simply hang up and it will go to voicemail as normal.
All you need to do to check voicemail is press # when you hear your message – then it asks you for the usual pin# so you can check it.
Also If you hit the “quiet” key rather than “ignore” It should just ring silently until voicemail picks it up…
I have the LG Dare with Verizon and trap call works great! I am using the fly trap and when I hit ignore call it stops ringing then a second or two later starts ringing with the phone number!
How did you get this to work ? I have the same phone but it doesnt send me a voice mail.
heyy i have a lg dare with verizon and i dnt seem to get any code on my voice mail cud u please help me thankk u
my problem with the lg dare is that i ignore it and it goes to voice mail, doesnt comeback un masked
We’ve been experiencing some issues on the 866 number, if it’s giving you this issue just forward your calls to our alternate toll free number 888-470-6659, just dial *71-888-470-6659 if on Verizon or ##004# SEND followed by *004*18884706659*11# SEND if on AT&T/T-mobile
So far, so good. Great product guys.
same here…..no voicemail
I have an LG Voyager and it works fine with voice mail. All I do is when it 1st starts ringing hit ignore then when the call comes back and rings the phone hit quiet and it then goes to voice mail.
howd you get it to work? i have the same phone but im not getting the voicemail with the activation code.
Also if you just want it to go to voice mail the 1st time when a call comes in and not to reveal the number just hit end on the phone till it stops ringing and it will go to voice mail
Same problem here I have the LG ENV VX9900 and cant get voice mail had to read all this to find out to use the *73 not the ##004# LMAO I guess its to new I will check back when all bugs are worked out. Also for verizon phones the *73 works to deactivate just remember to restart the phone thanks to all who posted for us so we know.
I think what is happening is that the voicemail is not picking up in time, and so the call gets forwarded to trapcall too soon, and then it just happens again when trapcall calls your phone back with the real number revealed. I’ll try what Don said about hitting END when I really want it to go to voicemail and not back to trapcall.
This is NOT a Verizon Wireless problem! The problem with the voicemail is a trapcell issue!
Ok, I tried what Don said, about six times, and only one of those tries it went to voicemail, I couldn’t get it to do it again. So I think it’s just buggy with Verizon, or at least with my phone (I don’t really think the phone has anything to do with it, but the carrier does).
Yar! Voicemail problems be the cannonball to this vessel!
i really would like this product for sprint, keep up your great work guys
getting really sad hearing everybody talk abt this, while sprint users await.
I just talked to Tech Support and the girl said that there is a bug they are working out with the Verizon phones, it doesn’t affect all Verizon phones, as she said she has Verizon and doesn’t have the voicemail problem.
So if you have Verizon and are having the voicemail problem, call them so they can track what area codes are affected and hopefully fix the problem.
She also said that they would extend my free trial by the amount of time it takes to resolve the problem, so definitely call!
Tech Support @ Verizon or trapcell? Trapcell is 3rd party, so Verizon cannot extend your free trial!
I have an LG Voyager, it IS working EXTREMELY WELL.. but voicemail is a little tricky to get to.
Since I never used it before it doesn’t bother me..but I find that approximately half the time I press the # button after it stops ringing.. it works.
If you use voicemail, wait until the bugs are fixed before you sign up.
I’m leaving the service on, even without voicemail for the time being. At least I’ll know who’s calling now, and I can just call them back if I want to, so I’m not really missing the voice mail for now.
yes, I have the same problem with the voicemail…But I have a different question, I cant find the answer to. How does this effect our Free M2M, and the friends and family numbers?
From what I gather, the calls are forwarded to trapcall, then sent to our phones. If that is the case, the minutes will not be free for M2M calls and friends and family. Anyone have any insight on this? thanks
Will the trapcall developers post ANYTHING about the situation?!?!?! ETA? Why it’s malfunctioning? Why you goes didn’t catch this before you released it?
Thanks for the tips with removing the app. *73 and restart the phone worked for me
Well, I talked to the girl this morning and she was very nice about it, and said they are working on it, and that they would extend my free trial period because of it, so I can’t complain… also it says “beta” at the top of the website, so if they had waited until all the bugs were out, we would not have the service right now to begin with.
Hey Guys, I’m just letting you know that I have an ENV2 and its not sending my calls to voicemail if I don’t answer them.
To describe the exact problem:
1) Phone receives call (unblocked or blocked)
2) Phone says “Missed Call”
3) Phone Rings again and continues to ring, then goes to busy signal on the callers end.
Never reaches the voicemail.
When you guys get these kinks worked out, I’ll gladly come back as your service looks promising. I’ll follow the blog and twitter to keep posted.
I meant to also add that I’m obviously on a Verizon based phone.
Just signed up for Trapcall on verizon and it is amazing. The only “doesn’t go to voicemail” problem I had was when I rejected the call a second time (after it un-restricted the number). But it still goes to voicemail if i just quiet the phone and let it ring (which is what i usually do).
Works great guys!
Combine all of the issues above and that’s what I’m getting.
Have Verizon with the LG Voyager…Set it up, had my girlfriend block her number and call me, and it worked fine (rejected it, it called me back). HOWEVER, from that point on, any call she tried making outward were sent to me AND any calls FOR HER were routed to me! WTF! Had to cancel my subscription and deactivate…be warned!
FIRST of all, all the tards posting the same question- over, and over, and over.. you get the point- TRY READING THE BLOG the answers are al ready here. NOBODY wants to read your babble, so please.
Second- Verizon is a horrible carrier anyway, try a better carrier next time. I’m so pissed that my Alltel is going to Verizon- Alltel is a far superior carrier, so now I have to switch.. yuck. I wont be forced to join ‘Americas most UNreliable network”- Verizon.
Also, why is it just the bad carriers that are available for trapcall? T-Mobile? Please, they are a joke as well. At least ATT is a little better.
THanks!
Say Your Carrier Is Verizon and It Will work For You I Know Because I Have Alltel
I signed up for this service on my Verizon LG Voyager phone. The blocked-call unmasking worked as promised on the site. However, I had the voicemail problem as did many other commentors on this blog. If you have this problem just dial *73 and then power cycle your phone and then application is disabled. I suppose now we merely wait and see for this bug to be fixed.
Verizon not quite ready for prime time. Calls will not spill over to voice mail. To disable dial *73 and wait for 3 short beeps before hanging up.
Here’s an update: I was in a meeting today, my phone rang and I ignored it. When I checked it later, it had gone to voicemail, and had been transcribed and texted to me! So maybe it’s working now. Stay tuned…
I get nothing when I sign up with phone number and email address.
Go through the signup process and wait but nothing happens. No phonecall, no voicemail, nothing.
I have a Verizon Dare. After instalation I checked voicemail right away.sure enough,no voice mail.I called Verizon to remove the voice mail.(i hate voicemail)Well now Trapcall won’t work.how do i reprogram?
Voicemail seems to be working now on my Verizon phone.
I just got an email from you guys saying the program finally works for verizon so i tried and set it up on my phone and now everytime anyone calls if i ignore it or even if i dont ignore the call another call will come after words showing (999)999-9999 everytime even for blocked call or unblocked calls. Also for blocked calls there real number doesnt show up
hey..dont kno what all the complaining is about…this is the best thing ever!!! thanks trapcall!!!…but for some reason my youmail/vymail isnt working…anyway to have 2 call forward things going on?? both ** ##s are different…please help…these are the best 2 programs that if love to have working on my phone…im on verizon and have a BB Storm…help with this issue please…thanks
Great job; AT&T user here with an old school RAZR phone. This service works like a charm. About 2 minutes to totally setup and test out; everything’s been free flowing. Great feature to have.
Hats off to TelTech for yet again reinventing the wheel of communications technology.
I can’t wait till the next revolutionary idea comes to play.
*Using SpoofCard over two years.
*Will use TrapCall for.. ever?
Thanks people, anyone reading this; I highly recommend the use of this product and all TelTech Systems products.
ATTENTION ALL ALLTEL USERS…………… To Program Your Phone Select Your Carrier As Verizon call The first Number It says Its Usually *73 after It Hangs Up Press Im Done THen Youll Get A Call From 444-444-4444 answer it Fast Youll Only Have About 2 seconds Before It Hangs Up It will Tell You The Code and Then follow The rest Of The Instuctions And There You Go!!!!!!!
ok after lots of searching i found out that *92 used to be used for no answer call forwarding so i tried it instead of the *71 that trapcall says to use to activate it and it does unrestrict the call and if you ignore it 2ce it goes to vm…so remove the app with *73, turn phone off then dial the *92 + the 866 number and you should be all set….or at least i am lol
This also worked for me as well.
1)To setup TrapCall for Verizon.
Dial *92 + the 866 number
2)This method also allows you to use YouMail at the same time.
With this setup if you silence(not ignore) the call they just go to your voicemail, so your phone doesn’t ring twice unless you ignore the first call.
Also to get rid of the *92 forwarding you ave to call *920
This method has been working for a lot of our customers with voicemail issues:
*73 SEND to turn your current forwarding off
*92-18669676590 SEND.
If that doesn’t work hit *920 SEND or *73 SEND to turn that setting off and try the following:
*90-18669676590
If that doesn’t work hit *900 SEND or *73 SEND to turn that setting off.
Hope this helps some of you with voicemail issues, if not we are still working on a permanent solution, this is just a temporary fix for our Verizon customers in beta
The above worked for me!
thank god this worked!
ok I have tried to do this 10 million times and it will not let me use both trap call and youmail…its only one or the other, at least for me…I have a blackberry storm 9530 for verizon (obviously)…what phone you using? or does that not even matter??…do I have to set up youmail first or trap call first?? does it make a difference?? is it *921866 or *92866?? does that make a difference?? maybe i can try the *92 for youmail and leave the *71 for trap call?? I’m going to try that since its the only thing I haven’t tried…help me please haha i don’t understand why this won’t work…considering I am very good with computers and phones…this is driving me insane haha
Hey Everyone!!
I’m using verizon just like all of you other posters that can’t seem to read the initial posts with the solutions to your SAME problem. I find that when I have a problem with my verizon voicemail I just dial *#*#*#991878299034887888849300923798459238675**##**## and magical rainbows shoot out of my bum bum and everything works out great!!!
Oh yeah I have a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X that I’ve been using since they first came out in 1984. It works awesome with Trapcall.
THANKS AGAIN TRAPCALL FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL SERVICE!!
Smartguy,
Your still using your 1984 DynaTAC? Wtf man you can get a brand new phone with triple the power 10 times smaller and oh ya digital for like 40 bucks.
Step up homes.
Alltel Works Under Verizon Just Answer the 444-444-4444 When You Get And Itll Work
I have Verizon, amd signed up for trapcall, and the unmasking works as it is supposed to, also have no issues with VM. I do have a problem with blocked callers, which I set up on the net with my account, but all that i block can still call me so I guess there are still some problems with this beta. Hope they work out the kinks, I will not purchase a pay for package till the blocked callers are fixed.
Ok talked to a service rep and told me I have to ignore caller and then the caller will hear disconnected message on blocked caller list, lol. I thought that it would actually block the caller, besides that i may end up buying a premium version if all the bugs get worked out.
what area of the country do you live in and what kind of verizon phone do you have?
I recieved an “unknown” call, pressed END and then it called back (i have trapcall set up) and the number showed up as “1-999-999-9999″…..anyone have any idea who that could be?
Bill collector?!?!?!
An unknown is not blocked/restricted. It simply does not know the number, this will generally happen with international calls
Lucky, your fixes don’t work.
Ken:
I’m glad im not the only one that this is not working for…supposedly it is working for some people….however it is not working for me and you! which sucks…i did not try to use *92 for youmail and *71 for trap call, just because i dont want to mess anything else up…..if anyone trys that and it works let me know…i just dont know if youmail can handle *92 instead of *71….
YouMail has to be on *71 and TrapCall on *92.
yes i kno i have tried this a million times and it does not work…i dont understand how it works for some people but not for others…it makes absolutely no sense!! if someone has got trapcall and youmail working..please walk me threw the directions…because i have done everything stated above and it does not work for me!! haha weird
thats cool!
Now can you try making this work for sprint pleeease!
I get about 5 blocked calls a day
I’m really anticipating the day it works for sprint
Me too!! I hate that it doesn’t work for sprint!! Why??? Its not like they are a small carrier!! Dammit, it pisses me off. I want to take advantage of this service and cant!! Come-on Admin, work a little faster please!!
It would be great if this service was available for Helio / Virgin USA!!!
OK, so in the Denver market the original instructions operated like this:
Callers ring through first time, blocked or not. If you hit ignore you send to trapcall, unmasks and calls you back. Unfortunately this same scenario works if you don’t hit ignore but let it ring. It forwards automatically to trapcall, then rings you back. In the end if the caller was NOT blocked it looks as if you ‘missed’ two calls from them. If they WERE blocked you ‘miss’ the blocked call then ‘miss’ an unblocked call from them. NONE of the calls end up in voicemail.
I have to admit not having voice messages has been nice but not practicle. Callers complain it just rings and rings. I have tried all the different forwarding codes mentioned above. The *92 and others will let me ‘forward’ this way but then when you call my cell the caller hears a ring, my cell never rings until much later. I am assuming this is after the call has been forwarded to trapcall and then comes back to my cell but am not sure.
In the end I have NO options on the Denver switch that seem to work properly with trapcall. It’s a great service but I have to have somewhat of a ‘normal’ offering in order to use it all the time.
Please let me know what else to try.
I am in the Philadelphia market and Trapcall is working fine on my phone (Samsung Omnia) with Verizon. I wasn’t able to make any outgoing phone calls after activating the service but power cycling the phone fixed that problem.
The only thing is when I dial *86 for voicemail instead of immediately getting “Please enter your passcode” it plays my voicemail greeting. But that’s no big deal because all you have to do is hit # and then your passcode. To make it even easier I re-programmed my phonebook entry for voicemail to automatically dial voicemail along with my passcode. So what you end up with is as follows:
*86## or *86,,,##
It’s working GREAT!
Sorry, it seems the blog won’t allow arrows. The above should be:
*86 (PAUSES) (VM PASSCODE) # or *86,,,(VM PASSCODE)#
Hi: Don’t forget about NET 10 “Pay As You Go Wireless”. Please Include Them In The Trap Call Family !
Google Voice will eat your lunch.
Hey, I *prefer* people calling me to have the phone ring forever when I ignore the call. I never check my voicemail anyway. Can we keep this bug as a feature?
Can we block international ? Incoming call ? THanks
My solution to voice mail was
*86W##WPASSWORD
As long as I wait for the announcement to start it works for me.
I forwarded my land line to my cell phone to unmask a blocked caller who always calls my land line. Since TrapCall caused the same voice mail problems as described above on cell phone yesterday, I have the eery feeling the blocked caller now knows my cell phone #. Also, TrapCall didn’t unmask the blocked # last week after I set it up. I got the 999-999-9999. Maybe the TrapCall staff can explain why some blocked calls are revealed and others are not. Fortunately, *73 worked for me today also. It’s back to square one with my blocked caller problems.
does anyone know if this works on verizon blackberry in the NYC area??
Well just when I thought all was well, it stopped working. All incoming calls just got dropped and my cell never even rang. I guess that’s why they call it beta.
Hears a temp workaround for youmail if its not working.
Sign up with trap call as a verizon customer, at forward to trap call with the *71
Then log into trap call and change carrier to att and then ignore the directions and just for forwarding num put 7142043114 (youmail)
Now all private calls will be unmasked and sent to youmail but unfortunately not routed back to ur phone.
Also all other calls will route to youmail.
It would be nice if private calls would route back unmasked in real time but this is a nice temp compromise that gives you voicemail and eventually lets u see the number unmasked.
it wolnt send me a voicemail and iv waited lik a hour
Moto Razr Maxx. 831 area code Verizon Works excellent.
went to a no service area did *73 Came into service 2 hrs later did *72 xxx-xxxxxxx
so I dont have to memorize the correct call forward number
address book stores my new info
“Trap Call on”
*72 xxx-xxxxxxx
then another since the address book holds 1000
“Trap Call off
*73
When I was was entering the known “out of service”
and remembered to do *73 voice mail works perfect
I just follow the rules . Made em better with the address book
I am thinking Nextel may not play well with others but thats ok with me talk to the voice mail .
I like it . stops stupid automated recorders friends dont block friends
WTF do you mean xxx-xxx-xxxx…….what is the number?
woops typo its *71 to CF not *72 everything else correct
You guys need to get a “m.trapcall.com” or “trapcall.mobi” site AND FAST!!!! I cannot login to the current site on my Blackberry. THIS HAS TO BE DONE LIKE YESTERDAY!!
[...] service recently became compatable with Verizon Wireless, and was initially available to AT&T and T-Mobile [...]
I thought this would be a god send but turned out to be the devil. It seems that the restricted and blocked call went through to my phone STILL blocked but that was only a small problem. The biggest problem was the phone would ring, ring, and ring never going to voice mail so I wouldn’t even have a chance to screen them. Thank goodness you guys figured on the *73 which reset the voice mail.
I will try trap call again in 6 months to see if the bugs are worked out with verizon.
This product is nowhere near ready to be used. It is not even ready for beta. It is just a concept. We are fools to have tried this service, after all that we read above. Yes, I am a fool too. I tried it. It only partially works. And now I am walking away. ( I can’t understand how TrapCall has the balls to charge for this.)
Nice attitude? The primary purpose of this service is free. IT says beta at the top. I see a lot of you not listing your phone type. If you read above it says the issue seems to be mostly with LG handsets.
Free? $24.95 per month is not FREE. I gave them my Credit Card, and signed up for $24.95 every month. You can’t say I’m looking for something for nothing.
*73 got my voicemail back on Verizon, but I blocked my own number from my landline to test it, but it went right through as though if I never got it. None of what it said it would do on a restricted number, it did. doesn’t work.
and why does i tsay 4:02 p.m.? it is 12:02
UTC Time
I did program it for Eastern time (NY)
one of the best programs out right now
Samsung Aliasâ„¢ – SCH–u740 –> cant check voice mail
LG enV® 2 –> will not get voice mail to get pin to install
LG enV® 1 –> cant check voice mail
plz fix bugs
i need to be walked through the complete setup, ive registered but cant activate me verizon krazer tried some of the codes no success..help
Mine won’t program either. HELP!
i sign up then it takes me 2 my plan then goes bck 2 the sign up again does any1 knw wats the problem?
If by this post you mean:
After selecting the “Fly Trap” plan. I input my cell phone number, carrier, timezone, email, and accept the TOS…
I click “Next” and I am booted back to the “Select a plan” screen….
Then I am having the same problem.
I used Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and IE to try to see if it was a browser error of sorts…
I then called my friend to see if he could sign ME up from his house…
Same error.
The only conclusion that I can come up with is that I once had Sprint, but switched to Verizion while keeping my Sprint phone number.
Plausible?
I’ve no idea.
But not even being able to sign up is getting quite annoying.
And like a good boy, I read this whole blog…and it seems this is a new bug report.
Sorry for the double post but it seems that error has already been cleared up.
For me at least.
Successful registration today!
LOVELY concept.
Great execution.
And for my voicemail fix…
All I had to do was change the *71_____________ to *92_____________
Ignore once = call back unblocked.
Ignore twice or let call pass through = voicemail.
Thanks TrapCall Crew!!!!!!
I am on verizon… What’s with the “restricted” calls still not being unblocked?
I’m getting pretty mad because I never receive any conformation voicemail… I have the Verizon Voyager, can anybody help?
I have a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X
What is trapcall exactly and what does it do?
Thanks!
i am a tmoble customer and it work great. the first time i had some of my friends call me with private blocked phone number. and it showed me there number work great love it i bet the bill collecter don,t like me calling them back how funny. this is a must if you want too know who is calling no more pranks my phone is a v3 razer with a sim card
yep. my voicemail iwont connect anymore either. I can get my voicemail by calling from another phone and pushing # then proceeding as normal, but from my own phone – cant connect. *90 + *73 + restart phone doesn’t work for me.
My Chocolate had the same problem, but i ended up fixing it not by just pressing *73, I just did the steps over again and bam! fixed, but if i delete my new pin # in my voicemail, it screws up like every1′s. When i call my voice mail, i hear my voice message+popcorn/crappy sounds+words are cut off. I can still access my voice mail on my chocolate when it’s glitched by: pressing # then erasing it fast-typing in my pass slowly-i get in or i dont, depending if i erased the # fast enough- i can access everything but i cant understand the machine talking so idk what to press. But i think to fix it and have trap call, all u have to do is redo the steps. That is in my opinion since i have not done it in a while. But give it a try if u want to keep trap call, or just press *73 and uninstall. Hope this helped!
I am 14 btw.
This service works fine if you want to go to a third party everytime you get a voice mail on your blackberry. I am sure it works in certain markets and with certain phones. But following all possible instructions, in Seattle, with a Blackberry Curve, no luck. I like to have a voicemail notification on my phone, and with trap call it disables my phone alert and just sends me a text telling me I have a message. Why must you all direct our voicemails elsewhere, sees silly for the occasional benefit I will get from seeing who is calling.
Paid subscribers can use their carrier’s voicemail.
i deactivated my phone trap using the *73 method for verizon but now it wont let me set it back up how do i get it back?
After you used the *73, you need to reboot your phone. Turn it off for a couple of minutes & see what happens. That’s what I did & my phone is back to normal now. Hope this helps.
it would be nice if you could add U.S Cellular to your list so i can use this program. looks cool
nobs, you obviously have not read one single post on this blog…this service bobs for apples in the toilet and likes it…there isn’t anything “cool” about it. Do everyone in the world a favor and kill yourself before posting again because the rest of us don’t want to read your ignorant drivel…
I have a LG Choc w/Verizon. Because I wasn’t able to get voicemail I did the #73. That fixed my voicemail problem, but also ended my service. I had the free service, Fly Trap. Now after thinking about it, I don’t get that many voicemails & am willing to wait until they get that fixed. I get too many unknown callers. I now want to get this service back, but for Verizon, I don’t remember the #’s you have to program into your phone to get it working again. Any help would be appreciated!
hi, i have a g1, and i’m trying to sign up for trap call.
i put my number and email, and it says wait for the code in your voice mail, i dont get anything. i tried it many times and its not working.
I have a verizon Samsung Flip Shot. I am having a similar problem. I dial *73 and it says “your call can not be completed as dialedâ€. It hangs up after repeating once. The sign up page says “Now hit next to continue!” but there is no “next” button to click on, just an “I’m done” button. So I hit the “I’m done” button and a spinner thing to the right just keeps spinning and nothing happens on the sign up page or the cell phone….any ideas?
this is my temporary solution. i have verizon lg nv 2. when i get a voicemail, if i cannot access it, i temporarily deactivate trapcall by dialing *73 send. i check my voicemail. then i dial the 800 number to reactivate trapcall. i keep the trap cancel and trap set numbers stored in my voicemail so i can go back and forth quickly.
i meant i keep the numbers stored in my cell phone, not my voicemail
Thanks for the information on vaice mail bs with verizon.
will save me a lot of time
I love it. It works perfect on my phone…samsung blackjack II. When I set it up it didn’t work with the #stuff so i just entered the other number that was given and it went straight through. ITs funny cause ppl seriously get MAD when they get blocked and they are calling up AT&T wanting to buy that feature…..PSYCH you cant, lol
is this gonna work 4 sprint any time soon?
is this gonna work 4 sprint soon?
Best Corky from Life Goes On voice:
“Duh Becka Is this gonna work 4 sprint soon?”
I have trapcall set up on my bb curve and when I get a private call and ignore it, it doesn’t ring back with the unmasked number. What actually happens is that the private caller gets a message that my number is not working.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
Trapcall is not working. When I do not answer a call or ignore it, insted of my voicemail picking up, a message that “all circuits are busy” plays instead. Calls are also not showing up in the Trapcall Log???
Hey Christine
I am getting the same thing and was hoping for a solution. I am willing to cancel my voice mail but wasn’t sure if that would solve the problem.
Any suggestions anyone?
This company is a hoax!
LOL!!! I couldn’t agree more and all these people just keep posting the same problems…yet everyone just keeps screwing their phones up with it.
Trapcall…you are lame.
In solution to the busy circuits problem, I *73 my account and reset trap call with *718669676590 and now it currently works. Hopefully this will resolve my problem permanently.
I just wished it worked when I was getting a private call.
I did the same thing only I reset it with not even trying it after reading all of the problems…because I’m smart and you’re not.
Obviously you assume alot. Your reaction was unnecessary but that’s what foolish people do. But regardless these postings are to share information on using Trapcall. To everyone else-I have resetted trap call several times on my phone and with no luck in fixing the problem. My last and final attempt resolved the issue. I would suggest that if you are patient enough continue to reset it, if not then good luck in finding other means to unmask block calls.
ok i dont know what to do now because i did work awesome but intill trapcall made there own voice mail i have the l.g dare it always says invalid pin and it never sends to my fone and when i get any calls even if there not blocked it says my number has been disconnected and is no longer in service (but thats is only when i ignore a call) so ya i dont no what to do i have deactavated and called it again to put it back on and i have even cacled my account and made a new one someone please help me
and also i have the “fly trap” package incase that makes any diffrence
So, does it work for Verizon or not? Hasn’t this been out for a month already and still no fix?
I am frequently unable to access my voicemail. I signed up for Bug Trap so that I could use my carrier’s voicemail. But when I call from my cell phone, it keeps telling me that I’m using the wrong pin number. I have to cancel trap call in order to retrieve my voicemail. I would like to keep using trapcall, but this is becoming frustrating.
I try checking my voice mails from the number that trap call has given me.. Every time i type my pin# and the “#” sign, it says invalid pin. I have tried numerous of times.. even forward the pin to my cell. It doesnt work. how do I make it work if it says its incorrect?
Plz, someone help… ;(
I got it worked out thank you. Just one little problem… every time I check my voice mails, there’s advertisement trying to get me to join things, and when I hang up I get numerous texts from a company called predicto.com telling me to join their group for instant cash prizes and stuff. I even texted “stop” for them to cancel me from their list, but they’re still coming. I dont want to cancel my account with you because of this.. I dont have free texting, this is bugging me..
Please help
Sincerely, a pleased costumer of trapcall
Why do i get a text message everytime i miss a call…i mean its just any number..its not even a restricted number?
is there any way i can stop this?its annoying!
pleaseee help
this doesn’t work on the lg dare it comes up restricted then i ignore it then it goes to voice mail what do i do???
I have the Verison Lg Envy and when i had someone call me restricted to test it, i ignored the call and it told the caller that my number had been changed or disconnected! And its not telling me the number that called me! WTF am i suppsesod to do?! I fllowed all the directions.
So i put “Flytrap” on my phone and it is working PERFECTLY…
But i have a problem, when i get a NEW voicemail, my phone doesn’t tell me that.
So i constantly have to call the 509-554-5555 number to see if i have a new voicemail.
I want my phone to give me alerts when i have a new voicemail!!!
Can someone help?
If you drop in to your carriers web page there should be instructions how to send you a text message and be advised you may wish to see what it will cost or add it to your account.
I decided to not use it because I am keeping my cost down for awhile while these tele-clowns get the hint !
any Q on text call * 611
hope this helps
when will this be available to nextel/boost????
just hopes it comes out soon..
For those who are arguing about Verizion Wireless I read alot of the stuff and talk to technical people like Engineers so I get alot of technical stuff normally not supplied by normal means so here is the scoop.
One Verizion and Alltel will be one company very very soon, name well do google search stuff changes like your kid brother changes his or her clothes and leaves them on the floor.
Two Sprint / Nextel and I believe Boost is their grandchild, in Michigan I was told ( and I was formerally Sprint ) that there is some technical problems in what is called hand offs ( google if you wish to know terms ) and is purely digital ( non FH ( freq hop ) ) and Verizion / Alltel is CDMA which hops the frequencies like a bunny which is cool .
Three Other non CDMA carriers are TDMA which is not that greatly used .
Four Your coverage no matter where you are at you are what in my circle of techs call 0.3 watts , 300 mW, peanut whistle power , the ye olde ancient analog which was just shut down recently to make room for the 4G network technology as soon as analog TV shuts off ( hopefully ) for good on June 12th. in some cases an external antenna mounted on the roof of your car and a cell amp which runs about $400.00 would put out 3 watts but because some people get a little uneasy drilling holes or a magnetic mount for those going to tim buk too and because of local politics of cell towers run 200 feet or higher , or hidden from public view signal only goes so far.
Five If you are in desperate need of long range communications there is expensive routes an alot of people would not go this way..
A Business Band 2 way radio ( leased or FCC license required ( try 50K for a fleet setup and misc costs ) ) also phone access by radio was another option.
B Amateur Radio Study for a license and the Phone patch is not a gossip line especially 25,000 people who may be listening on
and equiptment can be costly, and your car may look like a cop car with the antennas . but only if you wanna get into a hobby involving electronics, yet you will learn about radios.
back to Cell stuff blast from the past old mobile car phones were huge radio telephones and was a old Bell System thing with a long antenna about 3 ft long but that is a dinosaur .
Between Politics, staff to manage the system, software updates, the little phone you own thats the cell world. it just keeps getting better and G4 is comming soon .
BTW I am all Motorola Cell and my Ham mobile is a Motorola MCS 2000 TYPE III , HF rig is a Kenwood TS50 @ 100 watts & I am FCC licensed and call trap works for me
WHEN IS TRAPCALL GOING TO BE AVAILABLE FOR SPRINT???? WERE ASKING FOR IT BUT WE ARENT GETTING IT?????!!!!!!!! PLZ MAKE IT AVAILABLE FOR SPRINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For anyone else wondering whether or not this works, and how well it works, I hope I can clear up some confusion. There seems to be a lot of misinformation in this blog.
Yes, it really DOES WORK! There are some small catches, but nothing major.
Once you get it set up, even the free “Fly Trap” version (which I have), if someone calls you from a private number, it really will indeed show you the number of who is calling you. I’ve used it several times, receiving calls from various cell carriers as well as landlines.
Some people have said it screws up your voicemail. Kinda. But I don’t think it’s impossible to deal with.
What happens is that calls you don’t answer are sent to Trapcall’s voicemail system, and they leave messages there. Your regular Verizon Wireless voicemail won’t receive their call.
Trapcall’s voicemail system is slightly different from Verizon’s, doesn’t have all the same features, and takes a few moments to get used to. Here are the differences I’ve seen:
1. The FlyTrap plan, as shown clearly on the “Plans” page, is free, but contains advertising. When you go to check your voicemail, you’ll have to listen to an approximately 15-second advertisement first. Once you listen to the one ad, you’re in, and won’t hear any more.
2. Your phone won’t make the typical “voicemail received” sound when callers leave you a message. But, if you have unlimited text (I don’t), you can easily set up the system (online) to simply send you a text message every time a voicemail is received. It can also be set up to send email notices.
3. One thing that’s actually pretty cool is once people to start to call you and leave messages, you can sign into your account here online, and click and play the voicemails on your computer, without even having to be near your phone.
4. If you’re still not satisfied with Trapcall’s voicemail service, you can do as others here have done: When you don’t expect to be able to answer your phone (leaving phone in car, going to the movies, etcetera), simply deactivate Trapcall and let the calls go to your Verizon voicemail as usual.
And then, when you will be near your phone again, and you’re expecting to receive some private calls you’d like to identify, turn the system back on.
And when I say “turn on” or “turn off”…………all you’re really doing with your Verizon phone is activating your call forwarding feature, or deactivating it.
It’s a good idea to store the codes to activate, to deactivate, and to dial Trapcall’s voicemail, all as Contacts in your cell phone.
P.S. about cost: Every time you ignore a private call and send it to Trapcall, you’re using your call forwarding feature from Verizon. And then Trapcall is sending a call back to you. During this time, you’re using your minutes in double. If you don’t have unlimited minutes, you’ll want to be careful not to use this all the time.
Summary: It works to identify private calls. It makes your voicemail a little clunky but it’s still useable. The included advertising isn’t too bad at all. My phone is not broken or damaged. It really does work!
mine stopped working. is there anyway i can trouble shoot?
can you guys please do Metro PCS

My question is how do I know the number of first call
Good for you guys, but what about us Sprint users? D:
Come on we’re waiting for TrapCall just like you were! Please get it to Sprint ASAP. I’ve been waiting and waiting for this for so long my friend has this and he showed me, it works real great I want is it so bad.
Please make it work for Sprint TrapCall team!
I used to have this service on my phone, but had to get a new phone due to a warranty issue. I have verizon wireless.
I don’t mind use the voicemail trapcall provides, but it doesnt work anymore like it did on the old phone. It never prompts the caller to leave a message…it has a busy signal.
Also when i call my providers vm system, it doesnt tell me to call the trap call number instead…like it used too..
i tired *71,*90, *92…
any ideas..please help? thanks.
Please e-mail support@trapcall.com with your phone number or visit us in Live Chat Monday – Friday 9am-5pm EDT so we can troubleshoot your issue.
I would be highly grateful if you added support Sprint carriers.
its not sending the voicemail at all to my lg voyager titanium its verizon and i do everything you say also when i type every thing in it stays a red x next to the information and on the video it shows an ok it might be a bug in the system
Sometimes this happens with our automated system, if you are experiencing this issue please visit us in Live Chat on our website Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm EDT and a live operator can assist you.
I think this is the best thing ever created!
Although Verizon has taken over the responsibilities from Alltel (billing and support), it seems the app does not work. My test of the system (using block caller ID) to my number only gives the caller the (509) 554 – 5555 number to retrieve their voicemail. And yes, I watched the video, it was activated, and no there are no records of calls to my number. Awaiting compatibilty and will cancel my paid “trial” until further notice or updates.
TrapCall doesn’t support Alltel. They Say that right on the FAQs page.
It’s not Alltel, it’s VZW! Says on our bill!
Were you a former Alltel customer tho?….just because they switched the name on your bill doesn’t mean they’ve changed their backend systems.
Alltel Business – their/our account exec says it’s fully VZW… but I have my doubts! Like passing a 1200 page bill and signing it without knowing what’s in it!
Alltel is not “fully VZW”, it is just OWNED by VZW. The feature codes for call forwarding and voicemail are totally different.
I HAVE METRO PCS AND IM VERY MAD THEY DONT HAVE IT FOR US. WHEN WE CANT GET A CONTRACT PHONE TO ME THIS IS UNFAIR. AND I HOOPE THE GET METRO PCS SOON ! WE ALL NEED IT !
Unfortunately small prepaid carriers like to put a lot of restrictions on your ‘unlimited’ plans that they don’t like to tell you about. MetroPCS for example, you can only Call Forward to local numbers. TrapCall’s whole premise is that you are forwarding to a toll-free number where we can trap private calls, since MetroPCS doesn’t allow conditional forwarding to toll-free numbers, we won’t be able to support them at this time.
Source: http://www.metropcs.com/customer_support/call_forwarding.aspx
“2. Conditional Call Forwarding – any calls made to your MetroPCS phone while it is off or out of coverage will be forwarded to your assigned local number. When your MetroPCS phone is powered back on or is back inside the coverage area, your phone will receive calls as usual.
* To activate – From your phone, dial *74 plus the 10 digit *local number* to where the calls are to be forwarded. Press SEND and listen for the confirmation tone to indicate the feature has been activated.
I’ve read this
“We’ve been experiencing some issues on the 866 number, if it’s giving you this issue just forward your calls to our alternate toll free number 888-470-6659, just dial *71-888-470-6659 if on Verizon or ##004# SEND followed by *004*18884706659*11# SEND if on AT&T/T-mobile”
And done what its asked me to do, I have the same problem: TrapCall wont fwd the calls back to me when I hit ignore it sends them to my trapcall voicemail.
Unfortunately sometimes Verizon wireless puts restrictions in certain areas where only 1 concurrent phone call can be in place at a time (i.e. since the call forwarded to us you can’t have ANY incoming calls while the call to us is in progress). This isn’t always the case but sometimes it happens and is a knonw issue. You can also try *73 SEND and then *71-760-860-0220 SEND and see if that works for you.
i get the restricted call, i ignore it and it goes to voicemail. i can access voicemail just fine but i cant get the number to be unmasked. i have the samsung alias on verizon.
Try dialing *73 SEND then *71-888-470-6659 SEND
I signed up for trapcall yesterday. I have Verizon and a Motorola W385, which is a flip phone. When trapcall rings with the number of a trapped call, I unfold the phone but the onscreen ignore button and the other button disappear about as soon as I open the phone? Once I was able to press one in time but usually not. Any suggestions?
You need to go into your Call Settings and Answer Options and turn Flip Answer Off and choose Multi-Key. This will allow you to flip the phone open without answering it.
Ive Been Waiting Forever For You To Have TrapCall With Cricket! Can You Please Get This Service For Cricket A/s/a/p Thanks!!
Unfortunately Cricket does not offer conditional call forwarding to it’s customers, without this feature Cricket customers will never be able to use TrapCall.
Cricket does offer conditional call forwarding, it is the same as Verizon. *73 555-555-5555 sets up conditional call forwarding on Cricket.
I just want to use the trapcall not the voicemail……I need instructions for both verizon and AT&T
I would like to make a request that TRAPCALL be created for landline phones. My prank caller switched over from my cell to my house phone…maybe he found out I got trapcall on my cell I don’t know….but I need to unblock my house phone. Anyone know how to unblock these?…
OMG! okay, i gotta new phone. i had tha Env2 but that broke so i hada get a new one.. i wanted to get this trapcall unblocking number bak, but i cudnt cus it said that, that phone number had already been used! ZOMG. . Can sumone pleasee help me!?
PLEASE bring this to CANADA!!!
Does anyone know how Trapcall works in conjunction with Spoofcard? Can I find out the real phone number if someone spoofs me?
Does anyone know why the two “Restricted” calls I received in early August did not show on my trapcall account activity or on my Verison Wireless phone bill. They are logged on my phone as “Missed”. I was hoping trapcall could unmask the caller. The two previous ones I received were hangup calls and were, also, not listed on my Verizon bill printout.
hi, i have the LG voyager I’m trying to reactivate trap-call again. I just don’t know how to…………
To all this may concern:
Thank you for your service. I have been dealing with a crank caller for about 2 months. I signed on with Trapcall, and the police were able to catch the callers and using the trapcall records, file charges. No more calles and better, trapcall was the insrument of justice. \
Thank You Trapcall
John
